When Elmer the Beagle got his paws on some raw chocolate chip dough, things quickly took a turn! 🐶🍪

His pet parents brought him to UrgentVet Carytown, where the team acted quickly to help. With medication to induce vomiting, they discovered Elmer had eaten a whopping 2.4 pounds of dough! 🍞

Raw bread dough can be dangerous for pets because the yeast continues to ferment in their stomach, producing alcohol that can lead to toxicity. Add chocolate to the mix, and it's important to seek veterinary care right away.

Thankfully, Elmer got the care he needed!

When your pet runs into a bit of "Ruff Timing", UrgentVet is here to help. 🐾

Bulldog puppies are known for their perfectly squishable faces, but Choppo's face was a little too swollen for comfort. When his family noticed signs of an allergic reaction they rushed him right in for care. The good news? Choppo remained adorably wrinkly and cuddly through the whole process and left feeling a lot better than when he came in!
