We are a small animal veterinary clinic in the city of St Louis right near "The Hill" neighborhood. We are an AAHA-accredited veterinary hospital.

Please visit our website to learn more about our practice and check out our blog. That means we hold ourselves to a higher standard. Pets are our passion. And keeping them healthy is our #1 priority. Here, we strive to deliver excellent care for pets. Because your pets deserve nothing less. Hillside Animal Hospital, originally City Animal Hospital, was started in 1946 by Dr. Normal Schmelzer. It was one of the first veterinary hospitals in the city of St Louis. The hospital moved into its current building at 5325 Manchester Ave in 2001, increasing the facility space by 5 times. The original clinic building is now being used by The Feral Companion. In 2020, Dr. Anna Migneco and Dr. Aaron Willis took over ownership. The practice now supports five doctors providing compassionate veterinary care for numerous patients and rescue organizations.

No tricks here, just treats and a little Halloween spirit at Hillside! 🎃🐾

Keep the chocolate away, the costumes comfy, and those furry friends safe! Wishing everyone a happy and howling good Halloween! 👻🧡

Our two behavior nerds, Carolyn, RVT, and Beth, RVTg, headed to Chicago to attend the Clinical Animal Behavior Conference! 🐶🧠

While there, they learned about valuable training methods, new resources, and the latest updates in animal behavior management to help us continue providing the best possible care for our patients.

As an extra exciting bonus, they even had the opportunity to meet Victoria Stilwell from It’s Me or the Dog! 🤩🐾

We love seeing our team pursue continuing education and bring new knowledge and skills back to Hillside. We’re so proud of their dedication to helping pets feel safe, supported, and understood! 💛

Meet Dr. Anna! 🐾

Today, we’re introducing someone who holds a very special place at Hillside Animal Hospital — Dr. Anna, our owner and veterinarian!

Since taking ownership in 2020 alongside her husband, Dr. Aaron, Hillside has continued to grow and evolve while staying true to our mission: providing high-quality, compassionate care to our patients and their people.

One highlight of that growth has been the addition of Eastern medicine and acupuncture! 💛

Join us in celebrating Dr. Anna and the future of Hillside!

Look who’s BACK! 🐾💙

Remember this tiny little face?! 🐶 We shared this sweet boy with you when he was just a little nugget, and we can’t get over how much he’s grown already!
Watching our littlest patients grow into happy, healthy big pups is one of the best parts of what we do. 🐾💙

Help us give this handsome boy some love in the comments! ⬇️
