Located in the heart of South City, St. Louis Veterinary Center provides for all of your pet’s needs. So, here we are!

Our Story

Dr. Philip started his journey that led him to his own clinic by helping with shelters in the area, both in the city and in the county, and working with the animal protective association of Missouri. He worked with many rescue groups and piloted his own spay/neuter project. While working with all these shelters, he noticed that there was not a veterinarian located on Grand, which was a busy area that many pet owners lived in. He opened at the very end of 1991/beginning of 1992.

Not long ago, he was diagnosed with Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD) and was unable to walk or even go potty on his own. With dedicated treatment, time, and lots of determination, he's making an incredible recovery—and we couldn't be prouder!

Recovery from IVDD doesn't happen overnight. It takes patience, commitment, and following your veterinarian's recommendations every step of the way. Every tail wag, every step, and every milestone is worth celebrating. 🐶✨

Watching patients like him regain their mobility is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do. Keep up the amazing work, buddy—we're all rooting for you! 💙

🐾🖤 Sweet Faces Tuesday.. on whatever day we decide it is! 🖤🐾

Just look at Spruce. 🥹 Those soulful eyes, the adorable head tilt, and that sweet face could convince us to hand over every treat in the clinic (don't worry—we checked with the doctors first... okay, maybe not 😉).

Spruce was an absolute sweetheart during her visit and reminded us why we love what we do. Some patients come in with wagging tails, some come in a little nervous, but every once in a while one walks through the door with a face that makes the entire staff collectively say, "Awww!" ❤️

Meet Katy—one of our incredible veterinary technicians and the queen of keeping our surgery schedule from descending into complete and utter chaos. 📋✨ If surgeries are running on time, patients are where they need to be, and everyone knows what's happening... there's a very good chance Katy had something to do with it. (We're pretty sure she secretly runs on coffee and color-coded magic. ☕🪄)

When she's not expertly juggling surgery schedules and helping our patients, Katy loves:
