The girls from Girl Scout Troop 30957 created their very own song about bunnies, and we absolutely LOVE it! 🐰💕

Using the tune of The Brownie Smile Song, these talented girls came up with their own lyrics, and we couldn't be more excited to share them with you! Their creativity and love for bunnies shine through every line, and we just can't get enough of what they came up with! ❤️

The lyrics are included below so you can sing along too! 🎶

🎵 Some bunnies need to be rescued

They’re fluffy, soft, and cute

They come in all shapes and sizes, find the right one for you

Here’s some things you’ve got to know, so you’ve got the right knowledge

Carrots aren’t for every day, they’re just a tasty treat

Cats use litter boxes, bunnies need them too

And when your feelin’ down, bunnies care for you

Just like you rescued them, they’ll rescue you too

Brush them very often, just like you do

Keep them hydrated, using water bowls

Give them lots of things to chew, so their teeth don’t grow too long

If you sing this song, you’ll never be wrong

We hope to see you soon at the Springville Rabbit Rescue

Last night was a great night for Roger, Martini, and Matcha! They visited Girl Scout Troop 30957. Laura, a board member for SRR, was able to share her knowledge of rabbits with the girls, covering grooming and so much more.

All three bunnies spent a bit of time on the grooming table, and the girls got to see and even use some of the different brushes that work great for bunnies.

We guessed their weights, and little Matcha came in at only 1.8 pounds! What a little darling.

We are so grateful for the opportunity to spend time with Girl Scout Troop 30957 again! It’s always a joy to share our love of rabbits, help the girls learn more about their care, and watch their curiosity and excitement grow. Thank you to the troop for welcoming us back and giving Roger, Martini, and Matcha a chance to be part of such a wonderful experience. We look forward to visiting again soon!

Over the weekend, the bunnies were busy.

On Friday Tucker and Noelle were invited to a Trunk or Treat at Bright Path Lancaster. They enjoyed seeing all of the kids in their Halloween costumes and passing out candy. Of course our Trunk theme was Easter. Thank you Jennifer Pankow-Kruger for inviting us to your event!

On Saturday Mirabai was invited to Fall Into Reading at Frontier School. It was a wonderful event and Mira met many wonderful children and their parents. We were grateful to have wonderful volunteers Jenny Sprague , Ella Taggart and Michael.

This week on Wednesday, Laura and I will be visiting Girl Scout Troop 30957. We look forward to showing the girls how to properly groom a rabbit. This is our second year with the troop and we look forward to seeing them again. I know they've been working on something special that I hope we'll be able to share with you!

Lost track of my days and forgot to keep sharing bunny fun facts. 🤦

🐰💥 BUNNY FUN FACT: WHAT'S WITH ALL THE THUMPING?

Ever hear your bunny stomp its back feet and wonder what that noise means? 🐇

Rabbits use their powerful hind feet to communicate! But don't worry, not every thump means something is wrong. 💚

🏡 So, why might your bunny be thumping?

🐰 😨 Fear or alarm: Something may have startled them, and they're warning other rabbits that danger could be nearby.

🐰 😠 Annoyance: Maybe you're doing something they don't like, or you've stopped petting them before they were ready!

🐰 ❤️ Looking for attention: Some bunnies learn that thumping gets their human's attention. They might just be reminding you they're there!

🐰 👀 Curiosity or uncertainty: An unfamiliar sound, smell, or change in their surroundings might put them on alert.

💚 BUNNY TIP: Pay attention to the situation and your rabbit's body language. If your bunny thumps, take a moment to see what's happening around them. Sometimes they may be frightened, and other times they're simply expressing themselves!

Every bunny has their own personality, and learning their unique ways of communicating is part of the joy of having them in your life.

🐰👂 BUNNY FUN FACT!

Did you know a rabbit can rotate each ear independently to help pinpoint where a sound is coming from? 🐇

Those adorable ears aren't just for looks! They're important listening tools that help rabbits detect potential danger. Their ears also help regulate body temperature by releasing excess heat.

🌡️ Here's something extra interesting: A rabbit's ears contain a network of blood vessels that helps them cool down when they're warm!

💚 The next time you see a bunny moving its ears around, remember there's a lot more going on than meets the eye!

🐰 Bunny Fact of the Day!

Did you know that rabbits need unlimited access to hay every single day?

Hay helps keep their digestive systems healthy and wears down their continuously growing teeth. It isn't just bedding or a snack. It's an essential part of their diet!

🥕 Want to help a bunny thrive? Make sure hay is always available!
