Say hello, explore our retail shop full of pet items, and learn more about how you can get involved at the shelter. Our deepest sympathies go out to the family and friends that were loved by Roberta Jean "Jeanne" Ray. She will be missed by many friends, family, and the community. At the family's request in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri in honor of her lifelong love of animals (donation link in comments).

Meet Buffy! This stunning 8 year old Siberian Husky mix is available for adoption and hoping to find her forever family soon. She is well-mannered, is great on leash, and has an incredibly sweet and calm personality! She’s kid-friendly and dog-friendly and is so ready for a place to call home. 🏡

Buffy also wanted to remind everyone that the shelter is closing early today at 4pm for facility maintenance, so be sure to plan your visit accordingly if you’d like to meet her or any of our adoptable pets!

Stop in today between 12-4pm to say hello to Buffy - you might just meet your new best friend! 🐾

*If you choose to bring your own dog along, all participants must sign a waiver the day of the event confirming their dog is healthy, free from contagious diseases, and up to date on vaccinations, including rabies and DHPP, in order for their dog to participate. Empty the Shelters has officially come to an end, and we had so many great adoptions! We had 54 cats and 46 dogs find their homes through the special. 🏠

Thank you to everyone who adopted a new companion! You save two lives when you adopt – the animal you take home, and a space opens up to help another animal in need. 🐾
