With the heat this week, we’re always looking for little ways to help keep our horses comfortable.

Even something as simple as keeping our draft horses’ long manes braided can help keep all that heavy hair off their necks and allow a little more airflow.

Of course, that’s just one piece of it around here! They also have their sprinkler system, plenty of fresh water, shade from the trees, and the freedom to choose where they’re most comfortable: outside grazing, under the trees, or in the shed with the fans.

Freedom, forage, friends… and plenty of ways to beat the heat!

So thankful for all the rain and the lush green grass it’s given our horses and for good seed that helped us produce it!

There’s always another job to do and plenty of work that goes into keeping pastures healthy, but standing back and seeing this makes it all worth it.

🍂🐴 FALL LESSON OPENINGS!

Fall lessons start next week! The perfect after-school activity to learn, grow, and experience the love of a horse. ❤️

We have a few openings in our Thursday 4:00–5:30 PM group for ages 10–15!
We’re also finalizing availability for our Monday 3:30–5:00 PM group, so message us if Monday works better for your family.

How do you say goodbye to someone who’s been part of Riverside for 20 years… when she’s only 24?! ❤️

When someone asked Maddie last night how long she’d been with us and she answered “20 years,” the look of confusion was priceless. 😂 But it’s true! She started here as a little 4-year-old student and somehow along the way became a worker, instructor, horsewoman, jack-of-all-trades, technology fixer 😂 and such a huge part of Riverside.

Now Maddie is headed to Southern Illinois for school and a new chapter in life, and while we are SO excited for her… Team Maddie will officially be missing half, and we are NOT okay!! 😭

Twenty years comes with a whole lot of memories, growing up, horses, laughs and friendships. It’s hard to imagine Riverside without you here all the time.

We love you, Maddie, and wish you nothing but the absolute best in this next adventure. Thankfully this isn’t really goodbye but we’ll see you soon!! ❤️🐴
