Your pet may be eligible if they:
✔️ Are 1–8 years old
✔️ Weigh over 9.5 lbs (cats) or 50 lbs (dogs)
✔️ Are spayed/neutered
✔️ Are up to date on vaccines
✔️ Are even-tempered
✔️ And most importantly… love treats (we pay in snacks, not cash) 🍖😄

🐾 Donor Monday: Meet Noelle! 🐾

Hi, I’m Noelle—a shy, snuggly love bug who enjoys lounging in the sun, cuddling with my mom, and chasing my fuzzy toys around the house. 💗

My story started when I was rescued at just 3 months old after being hit by a car. A kind stranger brought me into the emergency clinic where my mom worked—and she’s been my family ever since. 🏥🐾

After she saved my life, my mom found the perfect way for me to give back: becoming a feline blood donor. Now I help other kitties in crisis, just like I once was.

Because every cat deserves a second chance—and I’m proud to help make that happen. 🩸🐱

🐾 Donor Monday: Meet Annabelle!

Hi, I’m Annabelle—a fun-loving, sassy girl with a big personality and an even bigger heart. I’m known for keeping my canine and feline siblings on their toes, yelling for attention (because I’m not the quiet type 😹), and sneaking up on unsuspecting humans just for a laugh.

Mischief? Absolutely. Love bug? Also yes. 🐱

But behind all my spice and sass, I’ve got a heart that’s all about helping others. When my mom learned about the blood donor program, she knew we were ready to make a difference. Being a blood donor lets me give back—and prove that even a feisty cat like me can save lives. 🩸

Because helping others? Now that’s my kind of mischief.

🩸 Donor Spotlight: Re*****on (aka Remi)! 🦸‍♀️

Sweet Remi just completed her very first blood donation—and absolutely crushed it! This superstar donated 413ml of red blood cells and 225ml of plasma.💪🐶

Shortly after donating, a hospitalized pup in need would likely be receiving Remi’s donation as a lifesaving transfusion. 🧡 That’s real-time hero work in action.

Remi’s family knows firsthand how vital donations are after their own dog was saved thanks to a transfusion. Now they’re paying it forward. 💖

🐾 Donor Monday: Meet Mr. Tux! 🐾

Hi, I’m Mr. Tux—also known as Mister Tuxedo Pants! I made my way from Nashville, Tennessee, where my mom rescued me as a tiny kitten. These days, I’m living the good life playing fetch (yes, fetch), riding on mom’s shoulders, and soaking up all the love I can get. 💼🐱

Feeding time? My absolute favorite. I never say no to snacks. 😋

But the best part? I’m a proud feline blood donor, helping other cats in need during emergencies. It feels amazing to give back and make a difference—one purr at a time. 🩸🐾

Cats can be heroes too.

She’s back at it again!
Athena recently returned to the Animal Blood Bank of Arkansas for another incredible donation—and this superhero did not disappoint! She gave 259mL of packed red blood cells and 211mL of plasma to help save pets in critical need.

Whether it’s trauma, heat stroke, or serious illness, these life-saving blood products are essential to giving other pets a second chance.

We’re so lucky to have Athena on our team of blood donor heroes.

Trauma doesn’t wait — and neither can we.
In emergencies like being hit by a car, attacked by another animal, or suffering a sudden fall, pets can lose dangerous amounts of blood in minutes. Blood products like plasma and packed red blood cells (pRBCs) can mean the difference between life and loss.

Plasma helps stop internal bleeding and supports organ function in shock.
pRBCs are used when pets need red cells, not fluid, to recover from blood loss or anemia.

These lifesaving treatments are only possible because of the generous pets enrolled in our blood donor program.

🐾 Donor Monday: Meet Chewie (aka Chewshine)! 🐾

Hey there, I’m Chewie—but my friends call me Chewshine! 🌞 My mom adopted me 5 years ago from a rescue group in Oklahoma after falling in love with my photo online. She brought me home without even meeting me first, and we’ve been inseparable ever since. 💛

My mom says I’m the ultimate companion—I’m always down for whatever, as long as my people (and a few treats) are nearby. I bring sunshine to every room I walk into, and my family says they’re lucky to live in my orbit. ✨

I love greeting guests with a stuffed toy in my mouth—bonus points if it’s slightly soggy from being left in the rain. I’m a certified momma’s boy, but I also love making new friends and collecting sniffs on all my outings.

When my mom heard about the Animal Blood Bank, she knew I was the perfect fit. A few years ago, my brother Leo needed lifesaving blood transfusions. I never got to meet him, but I’m proud to give back and help other pets the way he was helped. 🩸🐶

Here’s to making a difference—one tail wag at a time.
