We want to take a moment to address a situation that occurred this evening involving an interaction between a client and two of our staff members.
At Kerfree Kennels, we are committed to transparency, accountability, and respectful communication. We believe it’s important to clarify a few points following tonight’s events:
📌 Boarding Charges: Our pricing is based on calendar days, not by the hour or 24-hour period. This policy is listed on our website, displayed in our office, and explained at the time of reservation.
📱 Work Phone Protocol: A few days before July 4th, our work phone died and was subsequently lost. An unfortunate event, but not the first of its kind. Moving forward, the phone will remain in the office at all times. If we don’t answer immediately, it likely means we are tending to the dogs, bathing, doing yard work, or the office is closed. All calls and messages will be returned as soon as possible.
🐾 Air Tags and Safety: For safety reasons, we do not leave collars or AirTags on dogs overnight. Collars can pose a risk when dogs are unsupervised, and location data from these devices may be unreliable while pets are in our care.
💬 Services and Transparency: All services come with an associated cost, and we are happy to accommodate special requests when possible. If there’s ever uncertainty about pricing, please feel free to request a quote. We welcome the opportunity to clarify in advance.
While we recognize that human error can occur and we are always working to improve operations, we cannot and will not condone hostility toward our staff. Kindness and professionalism are the standard here; both from us, and toward us.
