⚠️⚠️MUSHROOM TOXICITY ALERT️⚠️⚠️
We have recently seen multiple cases involving toxic mushrooms in the Tahoe area, which include these Panther Cap mushrooms. These are extremely dangerous to pets if ingested.

Symptoms may appear within as little as 2 hours and include:
-Weakness
-Tremors
-Seizures
-Disorientation or coma-like state

If you suspect your pet has eaten any mushrooms, see veterinary care immediately! Even if they seem normal after ingestion, early treatment can make a huge difference.

Keep a close eye on pets while they are outdoors, especially in the parks, trails, and any damp wood or grassy areas where the mushrooms grow. 🍄

🌟 Puff is our May pet of the month 🌟
Here is what his owner shares about him:
“Puff was a single kitten born to a young pretty brown tabby under my shed in the fall of 2009. His mother introduced him by her side sitting on the lawn about 15 feet away from the back door. He was covered with golden leaves. He was literally a black fur ball with two points on his head. White fur stuck out of his ears and he had the greenest eyes.
He stayed when she left him in early spring of 2010. At this point I thought Puff was a female. I decided to trap her and tame her after getting her fixed. I was fairly confident I could when I took “her”to the vet who promptly told me she “was too old to be domesticated.”
When I returned to pick her up after the procedure the vet told me that she was a he. He said he “had too much fur to tell” until he shaved her and made the discovery!
Puff was essentially tamed quickly. The first day he let me pet him and he used the litter box. On the second day I picked him up. He was further domesticated by my grey kitty who taught him his manners and how to play.

Puff is not a lap cat or a fighter. He’s a talker. He loves people except little ones. He tolerates dogs and other cats. He really loves being petted and scratched all over his head, neck and his spine but don’t mess with his tail! He likes tummy raspberries and caresses. He will even reach for your hand to bring it back to him if you stop too soon.
And he loves all the staff at Advanced Pet Care, especially Dr Behrens. He flirts and talks to her looking up adoringly at her. Occasionally he even helps position himself so she can better access points for his acupuncture needles.
He’s a fluffy sweet boy with an adorable profile.”
