We are so excited to announce that construction has started on the new USU Bastian Agricultural Center Youth Livestock Barn!

Salt Lake County is growing fast… and for a lot of youth, that means less space for livestock projects.

Back in 2022, three youth came to the BAC with a problem: zoning rules meant they could no longer keep their animals at home.

So, USU Extension faculty, 4-H staff and leaders, and FFA advisors teamed up to help by housing the animals at the Bastian Center — giving those youth the chance to keep their projects going.

What started with just three youth has now grown into a full livestock education program, serving more and more families every year. And today, demand for barn space is higher than ever.

These projects do more than teach agriculture — they help youth build responsibility, leadership, confidence, and real-world skills that last a lifetime.

Follow along to watch the progress of our new barn and see how this program is growing for the next generation of youth livestock exhibitors!

The Walton is worked and ready for you to ride in! Open for free from 10-2 on 5/9!

Make sure you join us for a FREE open ride in the brand new Walton Arena!!

Open ride will be completely free on Saturday, May 9th from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Here is what you need to know:

✅️ We will have a few fun giveaway items to celebrate, so be sure to look for those!

✅️ If you have a current ride pass, the arena will be open all day for regular open ride hours

✅️ If you don't have a current open ride pass, you will still need to sign a waiver. Find a member of our staff upon arrival!

We are putting the FINAL touches on the new Walton Indoor Arena, including setting up these gorgeous new panels!!

If you want to be among the first to check it out, be sure to join us for our FREE OPEN RIDE on Saturday, May 9th from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

You can ride in the Walton at no cost within that time frame, but note that you will still need to fill out a waiver if you don't have an active ride pass.

If you have any active ride pass, it the Walton will be available for open ride all day on May 9th.
