I may or may not have gotten a cheap microscope...wanna see this gal up close?? I am putting together a video about fleas and trying to make it super informative but also interesting and entertaining, of course the time I have to dedicate to this endeavor is quite limited but I'm having a lot of fun and learning so much along the way, I can't wait to get it put together for y'all! Kevin turned my thumb into a balloon today, so I turned Kevin into a duck! To be fair, I know he is snippy and I know what he is snippy for so I definitely could and should have applied his duck bill prior to doing what triggered him, but where's the fun in the that. I still love him, he kind of tolerates me lol ain't that just the way it goes. Pic of my thumb without the glove/bandaid in comments, it's not horrible looking but man it is tender! Made the day a little interesting trying to scissor properly too...

Probably one of my favorite things to do, blow out undercoat before the bath, I should be wearing a mask (just ordered more) but I can't help myself. If you want to know the groomers secret weapon to getting undercoat out, it's a great high velocity blow dryer and a thorough pre-bath blowout...

If you want your dog featured in a video let me know and I'll make it happen, or if you just wanna see how your pet behaves for things when you're not here I can take clips just for you to view that don't need to be shared. Just curious....if any clients )or would like to be clients) have a pool that my kids and I could come splash around in sometime in the next few weeks while the weather is still good for it, I would totally trade a grooming or bath/deshed up to $75 for a few hours of pool time...

I am going to start making content for this page in the form of videos centered around grooming, things like tips and tricks for at home maintenance, nail trimming, the importance of grooming etc. Planning to throw in a funny sketch or two along the way as well, but I wanna hear from you while I'm creating the first few clips/videos, what are some questions you have about pet grooming? Things you wanna know more about or are curious to see, good questions to ask when looking for a groomer, etc? Your input will help me make better videos for my audience!

I have noticed that I've been getting a few comments on the page from obvious scam/bot accounts saying things like, "hey beautiful I tried adding you as friend but it wouldn't go through would you send a direct message or friend request, I'd be interested in getting to know you, blah blah, blah..." As soon as I notice I ban the account but just wanted to address it in case anyone sees such a comment and thinks it's genuine, please either report or ignore any suspicious comments, I would hate to see anyone get roped into some sort of scam! Also if anyone knows of a way to prevent them from interacting with the page in the first place, I'm all ears.

There are some changes coming up:

The Groom Room will soon be moving their location into The Polished Pup in South Haven located just outside the laundromat on Blue Star Hwy. I am super excited for Jess to have found a great little spot to continue offering services while she finishes up her next steps for moving into massage therapy.
I have greatly enjoyed working side by side with her for the last several years and I know she will continue to do great things! If you are a client of The Groom Room you can reach out to Jess if you have any questions. (Check out The Groom Room page if you're looking for a job with a great employer!)

The building I rent here in Covert is under new ownership and I am working on a few ideas of my own to hopefully be able to expand our service offerings but will certainly keep everyone posted! I am also in talks with a groomer that will hopefully be joining my staff by August and am always taking resumés and have opportunities for experienced groomers or if you're passionate about pets and see a career as a groomer in your future you could start here as a bather with training opportunities. Also if you offer other pet services in the area I'd love to collaborate or recommend you to my clients!

One more thing I wanted to touch on is there have been a few clients that have asked if I am affiliated with another local groomer with a very similar business name and I am not. Based on her photos it seems like she is a well rounded stylist and a good option if you need something closer to South Haven but our businesses are not connected in any way other than having a similar name.
