We took all of these ticks off a dog yesterday. It always amazes me how small they are and they can be easily missed when searching for them on our dogs or cats. Ticks can transmit many diseases and we are seeing more of them. Every black speck in this bowl is a tick. Nexgard plus or Simparica trio should continue year round for dogs.

We are trying to call everyone with an appointment to confirm your actual appointment time, but if you havenā€™t heard from us please do confirm your appointment time so that you donā€™t have to wait for an hour! Attention everyone! We recently found out that the provider of our phone app (Vetpawer) has decided to discontinue that product. We know that for many of our Gilmer Park clients this is a convenient and preferred way of communicating with our office. No worries, we have found a great replacement! Over the next few days you should receive an email and text message informing you how to access the new phone app.
So sorry for this inconvenience, but we think youā€™ll like the new app even better!

šŸ¦‡ Bats were the most frequently reported rabid animal in the U.S. in 2023. Over 1/3 of animal rabies cases in the U.S. in 2023 were bats.
