Today wraps up Spring Appreciation Week here at PVH. It truly takes a village to keep a hospital of this size running smoothly. Without all of the staff it would be an impossible task. Thank you for all that you do.

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Jacob Myers to Pilchuck Veterinary Hospital!

Dr. Myers is a native to Western WA. He spent 2.5 years in the construction trades before pursuing an undergraduate degree from Evergreen State College in Olympia, focusing his studies on organic chemistry and biochemistry. He also spent time in a student group named ESSAA (Evergreen students for sustainable animal agriculture) where they managed a flock of Suffolk/Dorset cross sheep year-round. From there he moved to Pullman and graduated from Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine with his DVM. He worked in general practice for his first three years until moving to Emergency Medicine at a 24 hour practice in Bellevue. For the last 3 years he has been working as an overnight emergency veterinarian in Colorado and then Idaho until moving back to Western Washington. His special interests include soft tissue and emergency surgery, critical care medicine and ultrasound imaging. In his free time, he can mostly be found either training his 4-year-old Brittany spaniel Gypsy or hunting upland game birds with her in the fall and winter and hunting for turkey in the spring. He also enjoys camping, hiking and especially fishing with his wife Julia. Alongside Gypsy they also share their home with 2 other dogs, another Brittany spaniel named Zoe (retired), a rescue dog named Nisha, and two cats; Ninja and Mochi.

I just want to give Pilchuck ER small animal a big shout out. You guys are beyond AMAZING. We had 2 clients over the last 2 weeks have very critical situations with their guardian breed type dogs that needed medical attention. From the minute calling in explaining the circumstances to taking amazing top-notch care of these dogs, you guys rocked it. Morgan, who has taken my calls a few times has provided amazing customer service, follow-through, and kindness...keep that up, Morgan!! But that isn't anything new, you all have always provided excellent service over the years to us and the clients we send your way. We know times are really hard with COVID , so we ( Kim/John Sparks - Sparks K9 ) just want to make sure you know how much we appreciate you! Thank you Dr. John as always, Dr. Murphy and the crew! Boy, what a week!
This place is a f'ing joke, my mom took her dog for an emergency where her stomach rotated. They wouldn't perform surgery unless she gave them 3k, she had $500 cash and needed to get to the bank. But no! They wouldn't let her. So because she didn't have the full amount right then they would let her die. And then because she got mad yelling about it, which everyone who has a heart would do the same thing. They said she was being inappropriate and rude. Everyone is so soft now a days, can't handle an upset client. Stupid idiots.
Pilchuck veterinary sucks, it's all about the money with them, they don't care that they screwed up or that your grieving.
My daughters on the phone with u now about an emergency with her cat, $119 up front. U guys really suck!!!!!!!
Pilchuck veterinary, sucks!!!!!!!
U guys suck
They suck
Got an unexpected card in the mail today. I've been meaning to send a thank you note to the wonderful caring staff for their care on January 30, for my beloved little buddy Smokin Joe the Cat. Though the visit ended so sadly with Joe's euthanasia, it was very obvious that all concerned cared to do the best thing for Joe.
Thank you to everyone.
Dr. Meyer, your favorite trio is "enjoying" the snow!
I'm inquiring about the female German Shepard you admitted yesterday emaciated with severe mange. How is she doing?
I have nothing but kind words for Pilchuck Vet and the staff. My dog was shot by a local sheriff and I brought her body in and was a complete wreck. The staff was kind, helpful and followed up with a sweet card in the mail. They walked me through everything and gave me all of my options for cremation etc. Thank you all again for all of your amazing help through this sad time for my family.
In my 64 years I have had many animals and seen a lot of Vets. When my 14 year old Hurricane Katrina rescue was having health issues, I was given an appointment with Dr. Fernando Fukuzato. He is a new addition to the Pilchuk staff. When I brought my 'furry child' Toby in to be seen by Dr. Fukuzato, he was given the most thorough exam he has ever had-and I had ever seen a Vet perform. Dr. Fukuzato was right down on the floor with Toby, and it felt like my dog was the only and the most important patient in the world. The Dr. listened to me-really listened, and patiently answered all of my questions. He explained what he wanted to do, why he wanted to do it and when. The next day, Dr Fukuzato himself-NOT a staff member which has always been my experience, but the Dr. himself called to see how Toby was doing. Unbelievable! Between appointments, I have emailed Dr. Fukuzato with questions regarding Tobys care, and the Dr. has consistently answered almost immediately. I have NEVER met a Vet with such an extraordinary knowledge, love and sincere passion for animals. Toby will NEVER see any Vet other than Dr. Fukuzato. You are the BEST, Dr. Fukuzato! I thank you and Toby thanks you!
