Buffy practicing how to wander around the woods with me. I can't spend a walk worried about what my dogs are doing. I can't safely hike and hold a couple leads. I need my dogs to know where I am at all times and not get so distracted that they can't hear me stomping around the woods. Dogs are proficient at walking in a group and not getting seperated or lost and I lean into it. I don't ask them to do anything and certainly don't give "commands" I walk and I stop and I switch directions and let them listen for me. I don't hold them back, I trust them, our relationship and the training we've done at home on and off lead. She did it perfectly just as I expected!
