National Animal Control Officer Appreciation Week April 14-18, 2025.
This week we would like to take time to recognize our committed and hardworking Sioux Falls Animal Control Officers who play an important role in animal welfare and public safety.
Our Animal Control Officers respond to a variety of situations with professionalism and compassion, from rescuing stray animals to investigating cases of animal cruelty. So far this year, Animal Control Officers have responded to over 4,738 calls and have handled 268 cases.
If you see an Animal Control Officer or a Sioux Falls Area Humane Officer, make sure you thank them for their tireless efforts to protect animals and to ensure the safety of our community.
