The sweet baby girls made it through their first night. Momma is doing very well, she has lots of milk supply and she is such a good caregiver.

The far-infrared and holistic treatments have done wonders for the puppies overnight. They are very loud and very alert for being on the cusp of one day old.

When the sun finishes coming up in an hour, I’ll be rotating sun treatments as well. They are absolutely ready for louder sounds. It’s amazing actually for how they were brought into the world. It’s very exciting to watch them come to life.

They will be getting a better bath today in nice warm, comfy water (with lots of cuddles and hugs).

When they come out of the bath(actually herbal steam shower) they will be going in a specialized incubator, set up exactly for their specific needs. When they get back in the whelping kennel, they will have a humidifier to help them adapt from the watery steam shower. Every day is another exciting event filled day for them. This is a big world. We’re introducing them too.

Because soap tends to be alkaline, or higher pH, using soap instead of detergents to bathe puppies and momma could raise the pH of their skin and disrupt the protective natural acid mantle of our new fur babies skin. We take special care that the products used are pH-balanced especially for our sweet lil’ pups. Natural skin moisturizers, like vitamin E and aloe vera, make their first herbal steam shower into an extra soothing, spa like experience.

For air and lung problems in puppies, or as a precaution, treatments overnight, included clearing fluid from the lungs, managing respiratory secretions, assessing if there are any problem underlying causes like allergies, and providing supportive care like oxygen therapy. In some cases, procedures like coupage or nebulization may be used to help clear the lungs. Luckily our babies didn’t need anything more than a standard treatment last night.

Clearing Fluid from Lungs is done after birth within the first day, puppies may have fluid in their lungs. Our clearing method involves carefully "swinging" the puppy head-down to help drain the fluid.

If a puppy were to have a cough or is having trouble breathing, the Merck Veterinary Manual suggests that adding humidity to the air can help thin secretions. Oxygen is also suggested by many veterinarians, as well as using steam from a shower or humidifier multiple times a day. This will be part of their routine for the next few days. We want strong, healthy lungs!

Just a few hours old and mama and her pups are already being treated with homeopathic and naturopathic herbs to improve their immune systems and help them fight against parasites. It would be way too early for any parasite treatments or treatments of this type any other way. We want our babies to be super strong and healthy! We also want to make sure mama can recover as quickly as possible. At this point, it is very important that mom have herbs, and botanicals in her system so that she can transfer them to her Puppies in her colostrum.

They are also experiencing their first treatments of far- infrared and sun, which helps along with the mom’s milk and immunity, in making our babies strong 💪 and healthy.

All of our treatments have been recommended and overseen by a group of veterinarians.

Panda update: Thursday 4/24

This morning on my way to Yankton I spoke with a dog recovery team and decided I wasn't going to do anything today. She told me to stop pounding the pavement, all the commotion could push her further. It was raining and cold today...
So I sat in silence, keeping a watchful eye on any movement in the area she was last seen.
I thought to myself ...I've sat in the woods from sun up to sun down deer hunting, I got this.
She also reminded me that dogs can feel emotions so I need to snap out of it and cry later. Dogs live in the moment so think like a dog, where would she go, what's going through her mind. Focus on dog behavior, that's it. Next steps were to put out trail cameras and make scent trails using old sheets that smell like home and put only a little food out by the cameras (if we feed her too much she won't come out because she won't need to). We had been given leads on where she was last seen and in her condition wasn't going to go far so try this before we bring in the scent hounds and thermal drones.
About 1:30 we saw a flash of her and then she was gone... She had gone into a culvert, one we had checked a million times.
So there she was finally, Panda. ❤️
She had, had her babies within a few hours of us finding her and we know that because that same culvert was checked about 8 am.
Panda had given birth to 6 puppies. Two boys and four girls. Sadly the boys had passed and weren't able to be revived.
Both mom and her four girls are now resting, eating and sleeping in a warm safe environment.
I hope no one ever has to experience this kind of situation. + I tried to give enough information from the recovery team Incase God forbid you ever have a situation with a missing dog.
Thank you to all of the support we have received and thank you to all of the individuals and service teams who volunteered their time for us.
Words just simply can't explain how grateful we are.
We've decided to have the two boys puppies cremated as a reminder that life is not fair, nature will play its course and to never give up hope. RIP sweet little babies.
I will post puppy pictures when I can. Right now they just need TLC

Panda update
She was spotted this morning not a football throw from where she went missing.
There is talk saying someone saw her a mile away by a local restaurant. The search continues. I appreciate all of the support and sharing.

She is very timid
We are not sure if she has given birth yet but the assumption is not yet as she's been spotted.

Good news is we know she is alive and now has been spotted 2 times.

She looks black and white in color but is black seal - in certain light her black can appear brownish.

Monday morning around 9 am Panda got out of the dog run. She was in Yankton SD and was do that day for her puppy count x-ray.
We have been exhausting every resource we can think of.
We don't think she went very far but we do think she is nesting and getting ready to have her babies.
We are extremely worried on so many levels as you can imagine. She is a part of our family and this is a very emotional time for my family.
If you know anyone in the Yankton SD area who can help out please let us know as we continue the search to bring Panda home safety.
If you have any ideas for us PLEASE don't hesitate to reach out
We have already reached out to the local humane society, police department, vets plus vets in the surrounding areas, asked all of the churches to reach out to their congregation and put something in their bulletin, posted in the local paper, put of flyers, posted in local FB groups and the DNR.
I apologize for being MIA on this page as I've been too busy contacting people and out searching for her.

Panda goes to the vet today for the puppy count x-ray.
Her milk is almost all the way in now.
Does anyone have any guesses on how many puppies are in there? Which day and time?
Her actual date is Friday. I will send a Gemstone sweatshirt or T-shirt to the person who guesses right.
I'm guessing 8 puppies, Wednesday & first puppy 9:49pm.
Dogs have a 63 day gestation length. Puppy count X-rays can't be done before day 51ish because their bones aren't calcified enough yet. I do these for safety of the momma and the babies, it's nice to know when they are all accounted for and out safe. 🐾❤️
Panda has been getting freeze dried shrimp on a daily basis 💪Shrimp have high protein, helps increase healthy cell production, increases blood flow, they are a great source of omega-3 fatty acids and much more.
The other night we pushed these two leather sofas together so we could sleep with her and she put her belly in the middle of the two sofas ha ha just like a maternity massage table. I remember being super pregnant and putting my belly through one of those holes. It's so funny, the small pleasures in life like getting to lay on your stomach. ❤️

I've gotten a odd amount of "I'm really interested, but won't fill out an application" if you can't or you need help please let us know as we can help you with that. If you are unwilling to fill one out then I am not the breeder for you. I am very protective of our puppies. I don't just need a sale.
We want them in loving homes it is what brings us great joy to see them happy on a sofa and with a family but I will not set my dogs up to fail just because you have $$ for the adoption fee but don't want to take the time to fill out the application.

On the upside I really appreciate all of our great adopters and guardian families that make it easier and provide all the requested information and then some!

Our puppies will be exposed to sun lamps and far-infrared to be proactive thru their early stages. Boosting their vitamin D3💫
It is so important that puppies be exposed to 🌞 outward stimuli from the first day of birth.
Here’s some more information about 🌞 and how it helps animals get the vitamins and minerals they need and why...
🌞Dogs can't absorb Vitamin D3 from sunlight as efficiently as humans, the vitamin does remain on their fur. When a dog grooms themselves, they ingest the vitamin. Furthermore, dogs store fat-soluble vitamins like Vitamin D in their fat tissue and liver, not their fur.

✨Let's put the spotlight on Suki 😀
Shes wild, spunky and so affectionate.
She was a HUGE daddy's girl and still is when she visits but definitely took on her mom's adventitious personality.
She was from our Mario litter last summer so she's not a year old yet.
