I’ve been trying to find a way to explain to dog parents the anxiety that is created by long goodbyes. This lady explains it perfectly. The intent is comfort. Unfortunately, dogs perceive continued petting and being told it’s OK over and over as there is something to be alarmed about. There is a feedback loop. The more the dog shakes the more the owner reassures, and the owner’s voice gets higher. In turn, the dog shakes more. Calm owners make brave dogs. Let’s work together to create brave dogs!

Long post alert!

Hi Suds Family,

We have been made aware a shop in the area had to close for a major repair due to burst pipes. We feel terrible for them as we’ve dealt with repairs of own over the years. The phone has been blowing up with requests and I wanted to let everyone know I am happy to take names for the waitlist but I am full to the brim taking care of regulars. As many of you know I have my own health issues and put weight limits on the size of dogs I groom. I am also doing many caregiving tasks and transporting my mother to appointments which means my time is more limited. I have started working half days on some Saturdays to make up for the time off during the week. Your referrals are appreciated and I’m thankful to have a successful business in these challenging economic times. Thank you for understanding.

Hello Suds family,

I recently double booked myself because I offered an appointment then didn’t see the reply. I’m trying to figure out ways to improve so this doesn’t happen again. I realize no one wants to be inconvenienced like this. If I offer you an appointment and you don’t get a confirmation text from my system or any reminders, it means that I didn’t finish making the appointment. Sometimes with texting it takes hours of back and forth to make an appointment and it gets lost in the shuffle. Please check with me if you do not receive a confirmation text of your appointment and the subsequent reminders as I may have missed it . Thank you so much for understanding.

Hello Suds N’ Style clients,

A note about our appointment system. The system texts you when your appointment is entered. Then it is set to automatically remind you of the appointment 72 hours then 24 hours before. This is a courtesy to our clients that has saved us lost income in no shows. As with all things we can’t please all the people all of the time. We have received complaints this is too much. We can try to set the appointment to not notify you but we each have hundreds of clients and between 4 different communication methods we may forget and it will send you the notices. If you don’t want the notices please remind us each time you make an appointment so we can set it correctly. Apologies if the system is too annoying. Some people love it, some don’t. Well folks, it’s been awhile but it’s happening again. Using my personal profile, I defended a friend whose business was under attack by a disgruntled person she engaged with in a community post. Now this person, her husband and friends are going after my ratings on all platforms. They are asserting they will ruin me by telling their “massive” circle of friends to boycott my business etc. I am willing to share screenshots of all interactions if anyone has questions. I stand by defending my friend as this person has never used her business (or mine). I find going after people’s small business that they have given their whole lives to over a community post (about animal abuse) deplorable. I’m able and willing to answer your questions if you have any doubts about my treatment of your dogs based on this person’s stalking and outlandish assertions. Thank you. -Laurie
