Just a friendly reminder that as of September 1st boarding prices increased to $40 a night for the first dog and each additional dog is $35 a night. I appreciate the support of my clients and please know that the increased prices are constantly going in to improving the farm for your pets stay..

Some of the thing we are in the process of to make the stay for your pets more fun and to keep things cleaner and dryer for your pets and me and the staff.
- just completed matting the entire center of the barn and in the process of putting a small potty yard off of the barn. This will be used to play in when the weather is extremely bad and outside play would not be fun.
-concrete pad going into the play yard. This will help our mud situation going into winter.
-covered area for me and staff for playtime so we are more comfortable while your dogs put out playing. We and the dogs will have somewhere warm and dry.
-old McDonald’s play set with tunnels going in play yard for added stimulation during play times.
-wood chips going in on hillside in play yard to help with mud control.

Future plans include Astro turf in the play yard. May not happen this winter but will eventually be in the works.

All of these things are being done to help better your pets stay along with make things easier for clean up and keeping my staff more comfortable. This allows for more time to play with and love on your pets during there stay with us!

Let’s have a little discussion about dog Etiquette. Yesterday I took my dog Jill to the vet. Socially she is the hardest dog I have. Doesn’t like dogs in her face she will snap at them. I had a lady with a beagle not paying attention to where her dog was allow her dog not once but multiple times allow this dog to approach Jill. I had to implement all her training I have put in to get her to keep this situation safe. But Jill and I where very uncomfortable multiple times. And the owner was completely oblivious that if Jill was not as trained as she is that this could have ended completely different. I used her focus commands and also kept her busy with her tricks to distract her from a very forceful Beagle trying to get in her space. Just like some people some dogs do not enjoy forceful greetings. And as a dog owner if you have a very “social” dog don’t just allow them to run up to every dog they see. It can end in a not great way. If Jill had nipped at this dog the owner would have gotten very upset and it would have been Jill’s fault. In both of our interactions we where kind of backed into a corner literally. There wasnt a lot of room to get around and away from them. Please use this story when you are out and about with your dogs and be a responsible owner. And this shows why teaching focus and some go to tricks can be very important. Cause using these things distracted Jill from focusing on a very forceful Beagle and an unaware owner. The owner did say to the dog as she was leaving “Look how well trained THAT dog is” Good girl Jilly Bean.

The Genetics are very strong with this one!!! This is Hunter from the Addi and Rye cross at about 20 months. He is a smaller version of Rye with the ball drive of Addi. And of course he loves the water.
