☀️ 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬: 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 & 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐨𝐚𝐭 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝-𝐔𝐩

As temperatures rise, many dogs begin shedding their winter coats—but all that loose fur doesn't always fall out on its own.

When excess undercoat becomes trapped in the coat, it can reduce airflow, hold in heat, and leave your dog's coat feeling heavy, dull, or prone to tangles. This is especially common in double-coated breeds, but even shorter-coated dogs benefit from regular brushing during shedding season.

Regular brushing helps remove loose hair before it becomes compacted, while professional deshedding services can remove excess undercoat more thoroughly without interfering with the coat's natural ability to protect and regulate temperature.

Some signs your dog may be carrying excess undercoat include:

🐾 Increased shedding around the house
🐾 A coat that feels thick, dense, or heavy
🐾 Difficulty brushing all the way through the coat
🐾 More tangles, mats, or trapped debris than usual

Keeping up with brushing and routine grooming helps improve airflow to the skin, supports a healthier coat, and keeps dogs more comfortable throughout the summer months.

All pets in our care have been safely reunited with their owners, and there are currently no animals in the salon.

Our team is safe and following the directions of mall management and local authorities. We will provide updates regarding business operations as more information becomes available.

A lot of wonderful faces have stopped by Peaceful Paws recently, and we couldn't let them all leave without a moment in the spotlight. 🐾

From first-time visitors to familiar friends, playful puppies to seasoned spa-day pros, each guest brought their own personality, quirks, and charm to the salon. No two appointments are ever exactly alike, and that's one of the things we love most about what we do.

Thank you to every family who trusted us with their pets' care. We feel incredibly lucky to spend our days helping these pups look and feel their best. 💜

A fresh haircut can make all the difference, and Buddy is proof. ✂️🐾

Under all that extra coat was one handsome pup just waiting to shine. After a relaxing spa day, Buddy left looking neat, polished, and ready to show off his bright eyes and charming smile.

One of our favorite parts of grooming is revealing the dog hiding beneath all that fluff, and Buddy's transformation was definitely a fun one to watch unfold.

Clean, comfortable, and feeling his best—I'd say Buddy wears his fresh look pretty well. 💙

This sweet Scottie came in for a little pampering and left looking sharp from her signature beard to those perfectly pointed ears. With her bright eyes and confident strut, Maisie knows exactly how to turn heads wherever she goes.

Whether she's posing for pictures or keeping an eye on everything happening around her, this lovely girl brings plenty of charm to the salon. ✂️🐾

𝐋𝐞𝐢𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐧 𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐚𝐮𝐳𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐦 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧. 🩵

These two siblings spent the day getting pampered side by side, each showing off their own personality along the way.

Leia was her sweet, well-mannered self and an absolute pleasure to groom. From her perfectly polished beard to those unmistakable ears, this lovely girl always knows how to make a statement. ✨

Meanwhile, little Finn was experiencing his very first groom. At just 4 months old, everything about the grooming process is still new, but he took it all in stride. He stayed curious, brave, and impressively cooperative throughout his spa day. 🐾

Watching siblings share a spa day is always fun, and these two were no exception. By the end of their appointments, both were looking fresh, feeling great, and ready to show off their signature Schnauzer style. ✂️🐾

We welcomed quite a few new faces to the salon this week! From puppies experiencing some of their first spa days to seasoned pros, a kitty guest, and even a familiar friend we hadn't seen in years, every visitor brought their own unique personality and charm.

Getting to know each pet and tailoring their spa day to their individual needs is one of our favorite parts of what we do. We loved spending time with every one of you and hope your spa experience was nothing short of paw-tastic. 💜🐾

Summer adventures can be a lot of fun for dogs—but they can also be surprisingly hard on the coat and skin.

Whether your pup is swimming in the pool, rolling in the sand, splashing through water, or spending extra time outdoors, their coat can collect more than just memories. Chlorine, dirt, sand, pollen, and other seasonal allergens can become trapped in the fur and against the skin.

When moisture stays trapped in the coat, especially in thick, curly, or double-coated breeds, it can contribute to tangles, matting, skin irritation, unpleasant odors, and even hot spots.

A few ways to help keep your dog's coat healthy during the summer months:
🐾 Give the coat a quick rinse after swimming to help remove chlorine, sand, and other debris
🐾 Make sure the coat is thoroughly dried, especially in dense or curly coats
🐾 Brush regularly to remove debris and help prevent tangles and mats
🐾 Stay on top of routine grooming appointments
🐾 Check the skin for irritation, redness, or sensitive spots
