The shelter will be offering rabies vaccine and microchip vouchers beginning at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 17. The vouchers will be given out on a first come, first served basis, with a limit of two per household.

🚨📣PSA: Nancy J. Brua Animal Care Center to offer rabies clinic as cases rise in Cochise County

💉Residents can sign up for a rabies clinic at the shelter on Thursday, Sept. 12, beginning at 10 a.m. For $10, the shelter will provide a rabies vaccine and a microchip (if needed). The clinic will take place on Saturday, Sept. 21, from 1 to 3 p.m. Only 50 spots are available. Sign up is on a first come, first served basis. This clinic is for residents from Sierra Vista and the surrounding area.

The shelter would also like to warn residents that rabies cases are on the rise in Sierra Vista and the surrounding area. Recently, a Hereford resident was bitten by a rabid skunk. If bitten by a rabid animal, please report it to Animal Control Officers and seek immediate medical attention.

It's important that all pet owners ensure that their animals are up to date on their rabies vaccine to help protect those animals and the public.

We are slowly bringing in some items for sale. We have pet clothes and bows right now. Items to come include feline nail caps, shampoo, recommend grooming tools for at home maintenance, possibly treats and more! Stay tuned!

*Announcement* I want to let everyone know appointments may take a little longer than usual as I have a wrist injury. Unfortunately taking time off is not an option right now.

On a positive note once the healing is done we will be adding Saturday appointments, to start we will begin booking the 4th Saturday of the month from 9am to 2pm starting September 28th. If there is enough demand I will also start opening the 2nd Saturday of the month as well.
