Meet Petey! This handsome 18-month-old Trail Mix Terrier is a gentle, quiet soul looking for a patient family to show him how wonderful the world can be.
Petey is a bit of a loner and can be shy when meeting new people or dogs. He prefers to take his time warming up, observing from a safe distance until he feels secure. Once he knows he is safe, his sweet, loyal nature shines through. He thrives in a calm environment where he can move at his own pace. He prefers no kids, and in fact will try to herd/nip them (maybe adults sometimes too!).
While he may be reserved, Petey has a fun, active side. He is great at obedience training as he is a willing learner! And loves brain games. He would have been an A+ Student! He absolutely loves car rides. He will happily hop into the backseat, stick his nose out the window, and let the wind whistle in his ears. He enjoys long, quiet walks where he can use his excellent nose to sniff out new trails.
Petey is looking for a peaceful home—ideally as the only pet—with humans who understand that the best friendships take time to grow. If you have a quiet routine and a passenger seat available for a lifetime copilot, Petey might be your perfect match.
