🐾 KEEP YOUR PETS SAFE IN THIS HEAT!
☀️Extreme summer heat can be fatal for pets. Unlike humans, dogs can't sweat—they only pant, which often isn't enough to cool them down.
Here is how you can protect them today:
💧 SECURE THEIR WATER - Make sure water bowls can’t tip over! Strap buckets to the kennel or use an automatic hose-attached filler.
👣 SHORTER WALKS - Walks in the morning and late evening are best.
⛱️ MAXIMIZE SHADE - If your pets are outside, the sun is brutal between 10 AM and 6 PM. Block the top and sunny sides of their space. Greenhouse shade cloth is perfect because it lets the breeze through, but even old sheets, tarps, or cardboard can save a life.
🐶 KNOW THE RISKS - Short-nosed breeds (Pugs, Bulldogs, Boxers) overheat extremely fast. Thin-haired dogs can actually get sunburned. Outdoor dogs absolutely need an escape like a dog door, shade cloth, or an umbrella.

Check on your animals frequently!!
