We are in sixth place of all the non-profits of Chaut County. We really feel the love and support. Thank you to everyone who voted. This is a 75% improvement over the last time we tried anything like this.

For many years, Centaur Stride has been deeply grateful for the unwavering support of the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation and its commitment to strengthening opportunities for individuals with disabilities in our community. Their generosity has helped make meaningful, life-changing programs possible for the riders and families we serve every day.
Most recently, NCCF provided funding to support the professional training of our newest instructor, Alison Mitchener. Finding qualified therapeutic riding instructors with the specialized skills needed to work with individuals of varying abilities is an ongoing challenge. Through NCCF’s investment, Alison was able to complete the training necessary to serve our riders with confidence, compassion, and expertise.
NCCF also funded our Volunteer Transitions program, designed for individuals with disabilities over the age of 13 who wish to develop skills and confidence while volunteering at Centaur Stride. Following her certification, Alison became the head instructor for this important initiative, helping participants gain independence, purpose, and a sense of belonging within our barn community.
Providing therapeutic horseback riding and equine-assisted services requires a careful balance of trained staff, dependable therapy horses, and sustainable funding. When one piece is missing, programs become difficult to maintain. NCCF understands these critical needs and thoughtfully evaluates grant opportunities based on community impact and long-term outcomes.
At Centaur Stride, the results are visible every day — riders building confidence, overcoming barriers, and sharing smiles that uplift everyone around them. Thanks to NCCF’s continued partnership, we can continue creating an inclusive environment where individuals of all abilities are empowered to grow, connect, and thrive.
