Me wee buddy Hamish had a burthdee too! (My partee was June 13, but me burthdee is June 1!

Please join us in wishing Hamish the Highland a very happy Second Birthday!
He is living a very loved life with "big brother in spirit" Dudley, and Pal McTrouble.
Two years ago, he was lost about two days after birth on a meat farm in Exeter RI. Babies sure try to get in trouble!
Three days later, in a heatwave, he was found, wrapped in brambles on a ravine. He was deeply dehydrated, he had pneumonia and had severe hair and skin loss, and fly strike. We discovered soon that he had developed a serious heart murmur as well. The owner made the decision to surrender Hamish to give him a chance. Hamish's supporters raised $14,000 rapidly to get Hamish to Tufts Veterinary Hospital's isolation ward. Ten days later, he was released to us in stable condition for home recovery. The rest is history! This spring, we received the best news that his heart murmur was basically undetectable! Hamish is a wee miracle boy!

🎟️To give you a great chance to visit the Sanctuary, we offer public guided tours most weekends!
We answer countless calls about "dropping in to see the animals" but that is not possible for your safety and for the rescue's safety.
📅Next weekend we have Dudleyfest on Saturday, and we also have a Storytime Tour on Sunday. Most every weekend from mid-March to December you will find guided tours on Saturday, Sunday and holidays.

Me verra tall bovine buddy here wants to tell ye his storee!

🐄"My story is one of simple luck and lots of love! I was rescued by a pure chance visit by a kind-hearted person getting supplies at a farmstand and they brought me here at a week old. I am a Holstein dairy boy, and I can't ever make milk, definitely not. I have lived at the Sanctuary ever since, and I've grown, and grown and grown to 6' 1" now! I love my bale of hay each day! BUT - I share my hay so much that I eat my meals in the adjacent "dining" room because, well yeah, I always will let my bovine buddies take ALL my hay if we are together. The other tall guy around here, Tye, tells me they have ordered a $622 Adequan vial, my new arthritis injectable medication, to help my knee pain. My front left knee says "snap crackle pop" in all the wrong ways -ouch. I am only 7 years old, but they tell me I age a bit faster as a Holstein. Bye for now - come visit me, I love to lick guests and get lettuce treats too"
