Meet Dr. Edmund Dorothy, MD —a handsome grey and white tabby with stunning green eyes and a calming presence that’s impossible to resist.
Dr. Dorothy’s story began with hardship—he was abandoned and left to fend for himself until Animal Control stepped in and gave him a second chance. Despite it all, he’s proven to be a resilient, gentle soul who’s ready to open his heart to a new family.
Though his name might raise an eyebrow, Dr. Dorothy takes life at his own pace. He’s a mellow, thoughtful companion who enjoys quiet moments and gentle affection. You’ll often find him curled up in his tower or under a desk while you work or lounging nearby—always close enough to keep you company, but never demanding the spotlight.
This sweet boy is fully litter box trained, has excellent mealtime manners (he never misses a meal!), and is learning to enjoy simple pleasures like scratching on his pad and exploring his surroundings. He coexists with other cats and doesn’t mind their presence. He’s cautious around dogs and appreciates having his space—he’ll kindly let them know when he needs it. So, he would do best with respectful canine friends.
Dr. Dorothy lives with diabetes, but he takes his daily insulin shots like a champ. He drinks a bit more water and pees more frequently than most cats, but he’s never had an accident and manages it all with quiet grace.
If you’re looking for a gentle, low-key companion with soulful eyes and a heart full of quiet affection, Dr. Dorothy may be the perfect addition to your home. If you’re interested in adopting, please apply online at mscrescue.org/adopt.
