Sports aren't the only accomplishments worth celebrating! 🎉

These puppies are doing an amazing job in Puppy Foundations 2. Here they are on an outing to Medina Square, doing something that may not look terribly impressive at first glance: relaxing.

But think about how hard it can be for us, as adult humans, to simply sit and relax in a busy public space. Now imagine doing it when you're a puppy and everything is interesting, new, exciting, weird or potentially worth putting in your mouth. 😂

Being able to settle in a busy environment takes more than learning a skill. These puppies need to feel safe enough to watch the world go by without needing to respond to everything happening around them. They're learning that they can explore, observe, check in with their people and just... be.

Those quiet moments are a pretty big deal.

Way to go, Puppy Foundations 2 teams! 💙🐾

Today we're celebrating some of our students.

Lucy (Windfall's U Gotta Cut Footloose) earned her final Q in Advanced Buried, completing both her AKC Advanced Buried and Scent Work Advanced titles (pending AKC approval).

Drift (Lucchese's Catch My Drift) earned his final two Qs in Advanced Containers, completing that title, and he earned one Q in Advanced Buried, leaving him with one more to go to complete both that title and his Scent Work Advanced title.

No placements, but some excellent searches and alerts from their two very patient handlers!

You asked for it, and we are very excited to expand our Rally classes!

Rally: Excellent/Master
Rally Excellent/Master features learning how to perform the Excellent and Master signs, while also ensuring that the basic skills learned at lower levels stay solid and dependable. Dogs will learn exercises that include working farther away from the guradian, such as “Send Away Sits,” and exercises that involve more complex combinations of skills.

Our first class begins Sept. 14, at 12:30 pm

And that's not all for Rally, stay tuned for December run throughs and workshops, and an evening Novice class starting in the new year!

Why do we consider heeling a sport foundation skill?
Because the unexpected happens long before you enter the ring.

A reliable heel can help you navigate crowded trial spaces, other dogs, dropped food, equipment, busy hotel lobbies and all the distractions that come with competing. And if you never plan to trial? It’s a pretty fantastic skill to have in everyday life too.

That’s why Focus: Heeling is part of our Sports Foundation Skills program. In just 30 minutes a week, we work on building a heel you can use around people, dogs, obstacles and real-world distractions.

🐾 Build the skill before you need it.
