Doorbell Excitement. What happens at your house when the doorbell rings? Chances are the sound of the bell is joined by the sound of barking. Your dog(s) may make a mad scramble to the door. Part of the doorbell problem is that people haven’t thought through what they are encouraging. It may seem useful for a dog to go berserk when the doorbell rings. People will often say they like having their dogs tell them someone is at the door. Say what? You can’t hear the bell?
