🐾 **Flea & Tick Myths: Fact vs. Fiction!** 🐾

Think you know everything about fleas and ticks? Let's bust some common myths that could put your pet at risk!

🚫 **MYTH #1: My pet stays indoors, so they don't need flea and tick prevention.**
βœ… **FACT:** Fleas and ticks can hitch a ride indoors on people, other pets, or even through open doors and windows.

🚫 **MYTH #2: Fleas are only a problem in the summer.**
βœ… **FACT:** Fleas can survive year-round, especially in warm homes and mild climates. Prevention should be a 12-month commitment.

🚫 **MYTH #3: I would know if my pet had fleas or ticks.**
βœ… **FACT:** Many pets show few or no signs until an infestation becomes significant. Regular checks and preventive care are essential.

🚫 **MYTH #4: Natural remedies work just as well as veterinary-approved preventives.**
βœ… **FACT:** Many natural products have not been proven effective and may not provide adequate protection. Ask your veterinarian about safe, reliable options.

🚫 **MYTH #5: One flea isn't a big deal.**
βœ… **FACT:** A single flea can quickly turn into hundreds. Fleas reproduce rapidly, making early prevention the best defense.

❀️ **Protect your pet year-round!**
Fleas and ticks can cause skin irritation, allergies, anemia, and transmit serious diseases. Keeping your pet on a veterinarian-recommended preventive is the safest way to keep them healthy and comfortable.

β˜€οΈπŸΎ Summer Heat Safety for Pets πŸΎβ˜€οΈ

Florida summers can be dangerous for our furry friends. As temperatures rise, so does the risk of heatstroke, burned paw pads, and dehydration. Keep your pets safe with these simple tips:

1. Never leave pets in a parked car β€” even for a minute. Temperatures inside a car can become deadly within minutes.

2. Walk during cooler hours like early morning or late evening to avoid hot pavement and extreme heat.

3. Check the pavement with your hand. If it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for your pet’s paws.

4. Provide plenty of fresh water and shade whenever your pet is outdoors.

5. Know the signs of heatstroke: excessive panting, drooling, vomiting, weakness, bright red gums, or collapse. This is an emergency β€” seek veterinary care immediately.

🐢🐱 A little prevention goes a long way in keeping your pets happy, healthy, and safe all summer long!
