2024 was a great year!!! A huge thank you to every one of you who trusted my family to provide a happy, healthy, loving home for your pets while you were away. We are working on our 2025 visions and I can make this promise loud and clear……. More pet pictures are on the way!!!!! 2024 was designed around animal advocacy, animal welfare, professional training, personal growth, and working diligently to find a balance between business and pleasure. We travelled, we walked, we soaked in the sun, we healed, and we loved the heck out of all of your critters!!!! Expect the same love and passion as we move into this next year!!

🎨 Donate $10 and Get a (Poorly) Drawn Portrait of Your Pet! 🎨

SMRAS is raising money for transport costs to help get pets one step closer to a forever home. We’re better at caring for animals than we are at drawing them—but that’s what makes this FUN!

🐾 How It Works:
✔️ Donate $10 per photo to Paws on the Ground online here: http://bit.ly/411NJkG
✔️ Comment on this post with a photo of your pet (any pet—dogs, cats, iguanas, guinea pigs, you name it!).
✔️ Our enthusiastic staff or volunteers will reply with your one-of-a-kind portrait. It might be a masterpiece... or a hilarious doodle.

🎁 Order as many drawings as you’d like! Every donation helps homeless pets find their forever homes. Feeling extra generous? Donate more to make an even bigger impact!

⏰ Deadline: Submissions close this Friday at 5 PM! Don’t wait—get your poorly drawn pet portrait and support a great cause.

Together, we can make a difference for pets in need—one doodle at a time. Let’s get drawing!

Please do not approach nor handle wildlife.
Please make sure to keep your pets vaccinated.

Awareness, Education, and Prevention are the keys to keeping our community safe.

The five wildlife species in Texas that are considered high-risk carriers of rabies are bats, skunks, foxes, raccoons, and coyotes.

The final stages of the rabies virus attack the brain, once to that stage the virus can be passed from saliva to blood. Smaller mammals will pass quickly during this time. Most likely never encountering a human or pet. The larger animals mortality may take longer. During this time the animals become disoriented and exhibit abnormal behaviors. Do not attempt to approach nor handle wildlife that are unusually active during the day or wildlife that seem to allow human contact.

If in the event of a bite, notify emergency personnel immediately for post exposure care.

If the wild animal can be caught by Animal Control, they will send the animal for testing.

If your pet has been bitten and is current on rabie vaccination, Animal Control may allow a 10 day home quarantine. If your pet is NOT current on rabies vaccination, then it will have to be placed in a designated quarantine facility at your expense. This is normally the local animal impound/shelter or a specifically designated veterinarian in the county.

THERE IS NO CURE FOR RABIES! It is a zoonotic disease that will KILL YOU!

Please be safe!
