Sebring Angels We are a 501c3 all volunteer Rescue saving dogs lives in Highlands County, FL & surrounding area.

Sebring Angels is a 501(3)(c) Florida state non-profit organization made up of volunteers working toward saving the lives of animals in high kill animal control facilities in Highlands County, Florida and surrounding areas. We operate solely on the strength of our volunteers, compassion of our donors, and love of our followers. Thankfully through networking and selfless acts we are able to save hu

ndreds of animals off death row yearly. We don't own or operate a building to house our rescue animals. The ability to keep these animals safe and sound is thanks to families willing to open their home to foster, and local boarding facilities that share in our goals.

We are dedicated to finding forever homes for our final four dogs: Gizelle, Rachael, Toby 2 and Ramona. Please check them out at Sebringangels.com. Thanks.

It's time to start thinking about the largest Pet Adoption Event in Highlands County!
Please take a moment to share this and any posts you see pertaining to this life saving event. This is our 11th year of Barktoberfest which provides the public the opportunity to adopt dogs and cats in one place from several local non profit animal rescue groups.
This is also our largest fundraiser from Sponsorships, Raffle Ticket Sales and public donations at the many planned activities during Barktoberfest. 100% of the money goes directly back to the invited and approved rescues. These funds are allocated for food, medical, rehabilitation and the necessities to get the homeless, abused, abandoned and surrendered animals ready for a forever home.

This is no easy task! The rescues work tirelessly and even put the needs of their animals before their very own. We can't do everything BUT we all can do something. Over the next 2 months you will see posts about Barktoberfest 2025, sponsorship opportunities and pleas for help with specific things. If your heart leads you then please consider a sponsorship, help us get our event flyers in the windows and cash registers of local businesses (they can be dropped off to you or picked up at our business in Lake Placid) and please share and tag your friends, family and people you think may want to help and Adopt. You can learn more about planning your day starting in a few days (it's being updates)online at PawsitiveEffects.org

Hi everyone. Gizelle here. Can you help the angels get me some new medicine for my itching? They tell me Apoquel is expensive. Why not send a green bag of Iams little bits dog food or some dog treats to The Dawg House for my pals Ramona and Toby. (69 Dawg House Dr, Lake Placid, FL 33852). How about sponsoring an outing or activity for them. They love pup cups. You can even send us a donation through PayPal by using our email ([email protected]). Just say it is for Gizelle's medicine or for a day out on the town for Toby, Ramona or Rachael. Thanks from me and all the pups...

Toby 2 is doing so great with his activities and training. He loves to swim and play. He is a 2 1/2 year old Cur/Staffy mix and a real love. We feel he should be the only animal in a house. He also needs a fenced yard to do zoomies in. Does anyone have room in your home or heart for a great pup like Toby? If you do, please fill out an application to meet him. https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/27721/generic

I am just so touched by the outpouring of support from the community. I have love hearing about all your dogs and I remember them. I am so tearful at all the nice comments. God bless you all and your pups. Believe me, we are as crushed as everyone. We tried and tried to hold on, but we can't anymore. Debbie (Treasurer of Sebring Angels.)

PRESS RELEASE: It is with sad hearts that we announce the closing of Sebring Angels Rescue. Our commitment is to the remaining 4 dogs we have. We are pleading for help from the community and other rescues to adopt out or receive one of our dogs. Please visit Sebringangels.com to see bios on our 4 dogs or email us at [email protected] if you can help.
We would like to thank all the volunteers, adopters, foster parents and people who gave donations to support our mission. We would also like to thank all the businesses that helped us on the way.
In the last 12 years we have helped over 1,500 dogs get adopted from Animal Services and owner surrenders in Highlands, Hardee, and Polk Counties. We have also given away over 700 bags of dog food to the needy people of Highlands County.
We would like to encourage our supporters to please continue to donate and volunteer with the animal rescues in the area. Your support makes a tremendous difference in the lives of the animals.
Please make sure if you have a dog adopted from us, that the microchip information is current. If you need to check please email us with the name of the dog, the microchip number if you know it, your name, and approximate date of adoption. We will check the microchip information for you and email you back.
Thank you for all your support through the years.
