Something exciting happened this month! 🎉

H.A.L.O. has officially reached 24,000 lives saved! 💜

That’s 24,000 animals who found their way to a forever home. 24,000 pets who are safe, loved, and sleeping soundly in a home instead of facing uncertain futures, dangerous situations, or life on the streets.

But it’s more than just finding homes. Every one of these 24,000 animals left H.A.L.O. vaccinated, microchipped, and fixed, helping prevent unwanted litters and giving them a healthier, safer start to their next chapter.

Behind every number is a life that mattered. A story that changed. A future that looks a little brighter because someone cared enough to help.

Since opening our doors in 2006, we’ve been working toward a world where every animal has a chance at a better life. And we couldn’t have reached this incredible milestone without our adopters, fosters, volunteers, donors, and supporters who continue to stand beside us.

24,000 lives saved. So many happy endings. And we’re not stopping here! 💜

Thank you for being part of the H.A.L.O. family and helping us save lives, one animal at a time!

From Street Cred to Sofa Queen! 👑🌹

Prairie Rose may have a cute tipped ear that hints at her former life on the streets, but this gorgeous 2-year-old dark Tortie is officially retired from the stray business. Been there, done that, no stars, would not recommend.

These days, Prairie Rose has much more sophisticated tastes: comfy beds, plenty of affection, reliable room service, and perhaps a sunny window from which to observe the outside world she has absolutely no intention of rejoining.

She’s sweet, loving, and ready to settle into the good life with someone who’ll give her a chance. Prairie Rose has already survived the streets.
Now she’s ready to rule the sofa. ❤️

Small, cute, and desperately hoping for a home‼️🚨❤️

Introducing Debby and Oakley! These two adorable Chihuahuas came from the same home, and while they enjoy each other’s company, they’re not a bonded pair and can happily find families of their own!

Sadly, both pups spent their previous lives outdoors and tested positive for heartworms. Their treatment starts November 20th.

The good news is that heartworms aren’t contagious to humans or other animals, and H.A.L.O. is covering the full cost of their treatment!!

Here’s where we need your help: without a home to go to, they’ll have to spend their treatment and recovery confined to kennels at H.A.L.O., potentially for another two months. Instead of curling up on a couch, enjoying a family, and finally experiencing life indoors, they’ll be spending those weeks in a shelter kennel. And while they recover, they’ll need a calm environment with limited activity. A shelter simply isn’t where we want them spending that time.

Please help us get these little ones HOME before November 20th!

Click on their pictures to learn more about their personalities and send in your adoption application if one of them sounds like your perfect match! 💗

Jemma - Adoption Pending!❤️

A Brindle Beauty with a Whole Lot of Bounce!😍

Meet Jemma! Almost 4 years old, 58 pounds, and built like a little bodybuilder, Jemma is proof that the best things come in muscular packages! This Staffordshire Terrier mix has a gorgeous brindle coat, a goofy personality, and a heart full of love. She’s a total attention-seeker who believes there’s no such thing as too many kisses, cuddles, or belly rubs!

Jemma absolutely LOVES kids of all ages and is ready to find a family to adore. She’s a champion cuddler who dreams of snuggling under the blankets with her person, but don’t let her sweet side fool you — this girl knows how to have fun! Fetch, tug-of-war with her favorite rope, and splashing around in her kiddie pool are some of her favorite activities. She’s also super smart and learns quickly, making her a fun partner for continued training and adventures.

Jemma is housebroken, crate trained, and has lived with other pets. Another dog may be a possibility with proper introductions. She’s still a big puppy at heart, though, and can get overly excited when greeting people. She’s working on her leash manners and will need a family willing to help her keep learning. Car rides aren’t her favorite, and thunderstorms and fireworks can make her nervous, so she’ll appreciate some extra reassurance when things get loud.

Jemma’s ideal home? An active, loving family ready for playtime, adventures, and plenty of quality time together. She’d love a backyard for fetch, a kiddie pool for splashing, and a cozy blanket to burrow under at night. Most of all, she wants a family who appreciates a smart, silly, affectionate girl who loves BIG and wants to be part of everything!

Jemma has spent years being someone’s girl. Now she’s ready to be someone’s forever girl. ❤️

Could this brindle beauty be your new best friend?
Requirements: Martingale Collar

Meet Lucy, a beautiful green-eyed tortie with a sweet personality and a lot to say! 🌺💚

At just 5 years old, she’s a gentle girl who loves treats, basking in sunny spots, and especially enjoying the sunshine from a screened porch. Lucy is also quite the little conversationalist—ask her a question and she’ll often answer right back!

Lucy arrived with her two siblings after a change in her family’s circumstances made it impossible for them to stay.
Through no fault of her own, this lovely girl now finds herself looking for a new place to call home.

We think Lucy would be happiest with someone who will appreciate her sweet nature, her sunny-day lounging, and her adorable habit of talking back. She has so much love and companionship to give and is patiently waiting for someone to give her a second chance at happily ever after.
Arrived at H.A.L.O. 9/12/2026, and 10/22/2026, not a good match.
