Our mission at Forever Loved Pet Sanctuary (FLPS) is to help save overlooked senior dogs in Arizona find their forever homes.

Forever Loved Pet Sanctuary (FLPS) is the only senior-only animal rescues in Maricopa County, Arizona. Formed in 2012 as a non-profit 501[c][3] organization, the focus of FLPS is to save senior animals who are often overlooked by providing them the opportunity to thrive in a safe and caring environment. FLPS serves a public need by offering housing to a limited number of senior pets. This safe haven takes the burden of temporary care and housing of senior animals off of local shelters. Inevitably, local shelters resort to euthanizing these abandoned, senior animals at an alarming rate. According to a 2012 statistics report, Maricopa County Animal Care and Control (MCACC) euthanizes one animal every eight minutes it is open to the public. Euthanasia for senior residents is the primary option for most local shelters because they tend to focus their efforts on a high adoption model that includes younger “more adoptable” animals. FLPS works with local shelters and rescues to identify the senior animals in need and provide a streamlined process for interested men, women and families who wish to adopt.

These seniors are too old for certain things, But most importantly…

They’re WAY too old to still be waiting for someone to choose them. 🥺🤍

They’ve put in their time. They’re ready for retirement, preferably on your couch, with occasional walks, unlimited snacks and someone to love them forever. 🐾

From being abandoned in a box, to taking over an entire house and being loved so much. 🥹🤍

Over a year ago, Oscar’s story started in a way no dog’s story ever should. He was found abandoned in a box, with no idea what his future would hold.

Our senior rescue saved him and kept him safe and loved until his forever home came along.

Fast forward to today… and that box has been replaced with an entire home to call his own. 🏡😭

Oscar has officially been ADOPTED, and according to his new mom, he’s already happily taking over the house, and she absolutely loves him for it. 🤍

This is why we do what we do.

Sometimes you meet a senior dog at one of the lowest points in their life, and then one day you get to watch them become someone’s whole world.

From abandoned in a box → loved beyond measure.

Happy adopted life, Oscar. You’ll never have to wonder where you belong again!!!!🐾🤍

Being older should never mean being overlooked. 🤍

Our senior dogs aren’t asking for anything extraordinary. They want the same things every dog does. Which is a cozy place to sleep, walks with their favorite person, treats they definitely didn’t need, belly rubs, adventures, and someone who lights up when they walk into the room. 🥹🐾

They may have had a whole life before they met you, but that doesn’t mean the best chapter can’t still be ahead of them.

Choose the gray face. Choose the older dog. Let a senior finally know what it feels like to be someone’s first choice. 🤍

Hi, I’m Tony! 👋🏼🐾

I’m 12 years young, 12 pounds, and basically a puppy trapped in a senior dog’s body. 😂

I’m a Schnauzer/Yorkie mix with a BIG personality and absolutely no plans to slow down anytime soon.

A few things you should know about me:

🎾 I LOVE toys, zooming around the house, and making sure you know just how excited I am when you get home.

🐶 I love humans AND dogs of all sizes. I’m a pretty social guy!

😂 My foster mom calls me a toothless little rascal.

🤍 I have Valley Fever, but my medication helps keep me feeling good and full of energy! Don’t scroll past me just because of this!

I’m also super smart, food-motivated, and not afraid to bark when I think you should be petting me more.

My ideal family? Someone who loves to laugh, doesn’t mind a little mischief, and appreciates a senior guy who still knows how to have FUN.

I may be missing my teeth, but I’ve got ALL the personality. 😉

Now, who’s ready to bring home 12 pounds of pure entertainment? 🏡🤍
