Meet wonderful Wanda! This 3-year-old girl is in need of her furever home!

Wanda is a beautiful tortoiseshell, or tortie. In ancient folklore, torties were known as magical cats "lit from within."

Wanda is no exception. Her markings are stunning!

Fun fact: most torties are female.

Wanda is a bit shy at first, but once she feels comfortable, she is sure to come out of her tortoise "shell."

Wanda is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped.
We are open every day from 10am to 5pm.

🎉Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, Whiskers & W**e 2026 raised an amazing $57,352 to help us continue providing second chances to homeless cats and dogs in need!🐾

What started as a rainy afternoon turned into a beautiful sunset just in time for the festivities! We couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful evening surrounded by so many people who share our love for animals. To everyone who attended, donated, participated in our auction and raffles, or simply helped fill the room with so much love and generosity, THANK YOU! You are the reason nights like these make such a meaningful impact.

Phoenix’s story is a difficult one to tell, but it’s a story that deserves to be heard.❤️‍🩹

After being subjected to heartbreaking abuse, Phoenix needed someone to step in and give him a chance at a better life. Thanks to the quick actions of a caseworker and the help of The Community Rescue Project - Arizona, Phoenix found his way to Foothills Animal Rescue on October 8.

What breaks our hearts most is knowing just how incredible this boy is. Despite everything he’s endured, Phoenix is nothing but a gentle giant. He’s outgoing, affectionate, well-mannered and has so much love to give. It’s hard to imagine how anyone could hurt a dog with such a beautiful spirit.

Phoenix’s past is something we cannot change, but his future is a story that’s still being written. And we hope the next chapter includes a family who will love him as much as he deserves. Until then, Phoenix will know nothing but safety, kindness and love here at Foothills Animal Rescue.❤️

Meet delightful Danni! This 4- month-old girl is in need of her furever home!

Danni is a stunning kitty. She is mostly white with a few splotches of tabby stripes and a striped tail. This is known as a "piebald" or "van" pattern.
And of course, a beauty mark makes her look complete!

Danni loves to sunbathe in a bright window! She is a bit timid at first but when she feels comfortable, she won't turn down chasing a string toy! She is a gentle girl who gets along great with her roommates!

Danni is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped.

Her adoption fee has been sponsored by a generous FAR supporter.

We are open every day from 10am to 5pm.

12 new beginnings! 🐾❤️ We had a fantastic week here at Foothills Animal Rescue, with 11 cats and 1 dog finding their forever homes! Every adoption is worth celebrating, but this week brought a few extra-special moments.

💕 Dion & Cher: After 110 days in our care, these sweet sisters found their forever home TOGETHER! They arrived as tiny bottle babies back in June, and despite Dion having Cerebellar Hypoplasia, also known as “wobbly kitten syndrome,” nothing has slowed this duo down. Because of their close bond, we hoped to find a family willing to welcome both sisters, but finding someone ready to take on a kitten with a neurological condition wasn't easy. That's why we're especially grateful for adopters like theirs, who saw beyond Dion's condition and recognized two loving kittens who deserved a lifetime together. Now, these sisters will never have to be apart, and we couldn't be happier for them!

💚 Doc: After 199 days, Doc finally got the second chance he deserved. Abandoned in an apartment by his previous family, Doc arrived terrified and unsure of the world around him. After his two feline companions were adopted, he struggled with his confidence. But thanks to months of patience and dedication from our cat behavior team, Doc slowly learned to trust again. On day 199, a kind gentleman walked through our doors and saw the potential in him. He promised Doc all the time, love and patience he needs to adjust to his new life. We couldn't have asked for a better ending to his story!

These are the moments that remind us why we do what we do. ❤️ Thank you to every adopter, volunteer, donor and supporter who makes second chances like these possible. Because of this incredible community, pets like Dion, Cher and Doc get the happy endings they've been waiting for.
