Best of Friends Humane Society Best of Friends Humane Society operates in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. Best of Friends receives no government funding.

We are a private, non-profit organization that provides financial assistance for veterinary care for pets belonging to low-income pet owners. Since 2012, Best of Friends has provided more than 1,100 low income pet owners with veterinary assistance. Our goal is to insure that no pet suffers or is relinquished to a shelter because its owner cannot afford veterinary care. The money that we pay to vet

If you’re a Chippewa County resident and need to surrender a litter of kittens, there is no surrender fee. As part of our effort to help prevent future litters, you’ll also receive a free spay certificate for the mother cat, redeemable at the Chippewa County veterinarian of your choice.
