3 years ago today I closed on this property and the FHFC journey began! It took 9 excruciating long months to get to that closing and a few months of renovations with all hands on deck. I’m not quite sure where 3 years have gone, but I’ll never forget the excitement of getting those keys and beginning some of the hardest, most exciting days.

To those who have lent a hand along the way, customers that have become friends, my family for their daily help and unconditional support - there’s a very long list of people that have made this all possible.

I can’t wait to see what the next 3 years bring for this store ✨

🐦‍⬛ Tis the season of finding baby birds where they don’t belong and not knowing what to do 🪺 If you live around Saugerties, we are fortunate to have Ravensbeard Wildlife Center for all bird rescue needs! Ellen and her team run an impressive rehab center and made it a quick and easy process to drop off a baby bird I found in our barn. Keep them in mind if you find yourself in the same situation!

YOUR 👏🏼 FARM & PET 👏🏼 FOOD 👏🏼 NEVER 👏🏼 SITS 👏🏼 OUTSIDE 👏🏼 HERE 👏🏼. We take a great amount of pride in providing the freshest farm and pet food all year round. As we get to a season where temperatures are fluctuating and humidity sets in, this is more important than ever!

Almost all kibble is coated with fat. Fluctuating temperatures can lead to the oxidation of fats, causing them to go BAD. This process not only alters the flavor but can also diminish the nutritional value of the food. The expiration date might be fine, but bad bags can be detected by clumped kibble, foul smell, visible mold, insects, discoloration, dust or signs of your pet telling you their food is BAD.

Farm feed sitting wrapped in plastic is susceptible to not only turning moldy fast, but also host the perfect environment for dust mites, weevils, moths and other unwanted pests to take over.

I repeat! You will never see pallets of large or small animal feed sitting wrapped up in plastic. We receive shipments every week to ensure your pet and farm critter’s food stays fresh INSIDE and out of all elements of weather.
