Dr. Crystal Winkler grew up in Kingston, NY. She started her career in Veterinary Medicine as a kennel assistant and worked her way up because she loved working with animals so much. She completed her undergraduate degree at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY in 2003. She then went on to complete her degree in veterinary medicine at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. Following graduation, she moved around the northeast a bit practicing small animal veterinary medicine on cats and dogs until she settled back down in the Kingston area to start a family of her own. She has been in the veterinary medicine field for over 25 years. She loves that animals all have their own unique personalities; they continue to make her laugh and keep her on her toes. The bond between a pet and their owner (and sometimes, even the vet!) warms her heart.
Dr. Winkler’s special interests in veterinary medicine are preventative medicine and client communication. She loves building a bond with her patients and clients and seeing them grow up over the years. She also enjoys surgery and wound care. She is USDA certified to provide health certificates. She sympathizes with clients that have pets with dermatologic and allergic conditions and can help guide them through that complicated process.
She currently resides in the Kingston area with her two children and her two mixed breed goofy dogs. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her kids. She enjoys being outside hiking, kayaking, or fishing. She also enjoys reading a good book by the fire or in a hammock, as well as doing creative projects and crocheting.
