Jessica Freiman is a USDF Gold, Bronze, and Silver medalist based in NH. Jessica Freiman is a USDF Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medalist.

She offers lessons and training in Dover, New Hampshire, and is available for clinics. She has experience teaching students from beginner to FEI, and on horses of many different experience levels and ages.

It’s been a long summer but after lots of help and long days Phanci’s retirement barn is finally ready! Thank you Jay Horr and Jennifer Wilson-Horr for your unending patience and skill in building. Phanci and I have been riding partners a long time, since her baby days, and I’ve owned her for a few years, as Matt said she could live in the backyard when she needed to retire. Well that time came this summer when in usual clear Phanci fashion she decided that time was here.

We were so not educated or helpful in the beginning!!! I know Jenn is a great teacher (and actually was the one who figured out the key to Phanci’s changes back in the day), but thankfully Jay is a great teacher too! And helped us out immensely this summer. He was here so many weekends! We can now run a chop saw and a nail gun and Matt did a ton of work with our back hoe. But really that’s giving us more credit than we deserve because Jay is a wizard. Can’t thank everyone enough for helping us get this done and now my son gets to grow up with his 18h pony in the backyard!

Thank you everyone that came out to help cut, nail, or chase after the kiddo while we were trying to run power tools. There was truly a village! And thank you to Phanci’s whole team over the years of vets, farriers, coaches, barn staff (Emily she misses you too for sure), etc. Atlantic Equine, Seacoast Equine, and Great Bay Equine have all been big important clinics in her life. Todd Blackington has done an amazing job on her feet and set us up for success, and before that Rebecca Watts figured out her feet recipe as a youngster. Thank you to her former owner and breeder Gaylee Robinson for trusting her with me when they retired so we could stay together. She’s been so lucky to have so many people love her and support her and now we get to enjoy our morning coffee together!

Thank you Maggie for loaning us Buddy to keep her company. They are already fast friends and he’s the perfect sweet pal for her! Looking forward to stewarding the older crew here together as our home officially becomes more of a farm this year.

A day late but thank you NHDEA - New Hampshire Dressage & Eventing Association for organizing the Shelly Francis clinic, we were happy to host day 2! Lots of great knowledge and exercises! Thank you to my clients who helped and participated, and my staff who kept things running smoothly!

Fall is a great time to train and get homework for the winter training season!
We have two opportunities coming up at Jessica Freiman Dressage, LLC.

November 14-15 a clinic with Rob Waine and Ben Franklin.

The New Hampshire Dressage & Eventing Association is thrilled to welcome Shelly Francis for two days of dressage instruction in New Hampshire!

📍 Saturday, October 10 — Wide Pine Farm, Barrington, NH
📍 Sunday, October 11 — Jessica Freiman Dressage, Dover, NH

Shelly Francis is a longtime U.S. dressage competitor and trainer with an impressive international career spanning decades. A multiple-time U.S. Grand Prix champion and Pan American Games medalist, Shelly has represented the United States at the highest levels of international dressage, including World Cup and World Equestrian Games competition. She is widely respected for her thoughtful, systematic approach to developing horses and riders through the levels.

Riding spots: $350 — limited to 10 riders each day
Auditing: $40 for non-NHDEA members | $20 for NHDEA members

We are especially excited to offer a 75% scholarship for one current NHDEA Adult Amateur and one Junior rider- keep a lookout for an additional post with more information about this! Scholarship recipients must already have signed up before applying- so don’t wait!

Finally home and sort of recovering from Region 8 Championships at HITS-on-the-Hudson.

Noah (Noether TF), owned by Crystal Potter, was 4th on Friday in his 2-3 and 6th in a big open 2nd level championship on Saturday! So fun to get this super talented boy showing, this is our first real show season together! Can’t thank his owner enough, he’s an absolute doll and we are having a blast and she rides him super well too. One of those rare horses that gets better with bigger atmospheres. Also thank you to his support team of Yankee Forge and Dr Christine at Atlantic Equine Services!

Congrats to Cynthia Collins and Farari TCE on their 2nd place finish in the I-1 on Sat and their 5th place in the AA I-1 championships on Sunday!! In the cold rain! It’s been so fun to see the partnership get better and better every year and so cool that he’s the 1/2 brother of her last horse. Thank you Cindy for trailering us and supporting us. Would have loved to cheer you on in the awards ceremony but also OMG thank you for leaving beforehand we were happy to be home at 8 Sunday vs 10 or later! Also thank you always for bringing your pups who are kinda celebs at this point and bring smiles to the show.

The best thing about championships is seeing friends we often only see once in awhile and it was so fun to catch up and root all of you on!! Thanks everyone at home for keeping things going and for all the texts and support!

Late post but we are all back from a great week at HITS! Just want to really thank everyone for keeping spirits up in extremely hot or stormy weather. August HITS is always a stormy sauna but this one seemed unrelenting! We adjusted, I think the vendors on site were bought out of cool show shirts, we kept the horses hydrated and used all the fans!

I got to take Crystal Potter’s Noether TF to his second show this year, and he was wonderful, 2 first place finishes, one 4th place, and scores to 70%. He was so honest and on my aids and felt like he would go through fire for me in the ring. Thank you Crystal, and his whole team, for helping him go from baby horse to a confident and mature competitor.

Charlotte Pearsall and Cola Korn von der Wiesdarde had another great show at first level, with a 1st place and 2 3rd places, scores to 72.7%. Cola and Charlotte are in their second season showing dressage and are an elegant pair. He loves dressage and his owner so much that he did not react to the very loud flatbed tow truck that was going on behind him during his test- he earned that 8 for submission!! Thank you to Charlotte’s partner Brendon too for all the muscles packing up on Sunday!

Carol Anne Head and Nordic W had 2 first place finishes and a 2nd, in their 2nd level debut, and they became more in sync with each other every ride. Carol Anne did a great job piloting him despite the heat! Thank you Carol Anne for the set up help! Thank you to her partner Tyler as well for all the trips to get ice Gatorade and sunscreen!

Cynthia Collins and Farari are new to the I1 and were 3rd and 6th and 4th in PSG. They are qualified for championships at I1 now and we can’t wait to show with them again! Thank you Cindy for all your help trailering and transporting things and for bringing your pups which are our nightly entertainment in the Airbnb!

Karen Hudson and Iliane had a first and second place finish in the I1, and they had a lovely soft balance in the snaffle! Thank you Karen for trailering Noah and helping with him while I had to coach!

Amy Wolfe and President JC had a solid second show together, and they gained so much confidence in their partnership!! Fun to watch them trust each other more and find more gears. A few baby bobbles kept them out of the ribbons and an ill timed severe thunderstorm monsoon ended one test early! But better to loose a show day then get struck by lightning. My coaching sneakers were a sacrifice to the rain that day. And we learned that none of the weather apps work that well in saugerties for predicting t-storms. Thanks Amy for the help with setup and organizing!

On to regionals!

Thank you Life’s a Ride Equestrian Center for hosting a great 3 day show!!

Congrats to Elizabeth Miles and Calypso on earning their bronze medal!!! Caly is an MSPCA graduate and Ellie has stuck by her and her development since she was a foal. Through lots of hard work and dedication (especially this winter!!) they’ve made huge gains and I am thrilled for them.

Congrats to Autumn St Laurent and Rhum on their second show together! Rhum trailered up to an unknown show grounds and went down centerline like a pro for his second attempt with a 66 and more confidence gained. Looking forward to seeing this pair develop.

Congrats to Charlotte Pearsall and Cola on their show, 2nd place in T-3 and 1-1 with a 69 percent and 70 percent respectively!! Cola is really figuring out how to navigate and appreciate dressage shows this year, so excited for them.

Back from a successful week at HITS! Thank you to all my riders boarders employees and family for making it possible.

I got back in the ring with Crystal Potter’s Noether TF, who I showed once when he was a 4ish year old, but this was our first real show together! He was so confident around the show grounds and improved every day from his first test that had some big green baby horse moments to his last test where he started to let me add a little power. He gained so much confidence and I’m looking forward to getting him out again and eventually really powering him up🥰. He ended up with a 5th, a 4th, and a 1st in 2-3. Thanks again Crystal for letting me pilot your boy!

Congrats to Cynthia Collins and Farari, Farari is officially an I1 horse!! 4th place with a qualifying score in their debut! And they were 3rd in the PSG on Friday. 🍾

Congrats to Carol Anne Head and Nordic W on their 4th, 2nd, 5th places in their 1-3 test. They are at the beginning of their horse show journey together and it’s really fun to see the partnership develop. Tiger got more enthusiastic every time he went down centerline, he loves an audience!

Congrats to Stephanie Lawrence and Reinhold (Hugo) on their show, they developed more confidence and polish every test and Hugo loves this show grounds!! They ended up with 2 fourth place finishes and a 3rd place on Sunday in the first level test 1.

Congrats to Amy Wolfe and President JC on their debut into the show ring! 5th place on Friday and they got more confident every day at Training 3. And Leo was the best youngster!! Some baby moments but nothing naughty ever, and he and his mom both gained a lot of trust in each other. Super start to their horse show journey!

Busy day coaching yesterday at the Northeast Multi-State Dressage show at The Tack Shack in Fremont, NH.

Congrats to our riders who participated! Highlights included:

Karen Hudson and Lily FEI high point and a win with their I-1 test!

Ashley Theodore and Pashmina with high point 1st Level and high point 2nd level and 2 wins. And Piper did her first one day show!!

Autumn St. Laurent GL Dressage with her debut of Rhum who we’ve only had in the barn for a few months but is such a good egg! She gave him a lovely confidence building ride.

Stephanie Lawrence and Hugo with their 3rd place T-3 in a big class and their first level debut. Very proud of Hugo as this was also his 2nd one day dressage show with us, first attempt since last year, and he’s trusting us a lot more!!

Charlotte Pearsall and Cola with a 1st and 2nd place in their T-3 and 1-1 classes. The 1-1 was especially harmonious!

Cynthia Collins and Farari with a 3rd place in the PSG and a qualifying score! Fun to see Farari find his groove more and more in the ring!

Last but not least, congrats to Elizabeth Miles on her third level debut with Callie, including 2 clean changes and a win!!!

Thanks to the organizers and volunteers that kept the show running smoothly! Thanks to everyone at home who kept things going while I was unreachable in warmup for about 8 hours straight🫣. Fun show, we will definitely be back! It was great to catch up with friends too and cheer them on!
