We’ve stretched, we’ve done upper body, and last month we addressed the core. So that leaves? Some lower body burn!

We had a great week at HITS-on-the-Hudson Region 8 Championships. Highlights include:

8th place Open PSG champ for Phanci and me with a 67%.
Phanci and I have been together for such a long time that I really appreciate it when she lets our partnership shine through!

Ashley Theodore’s 5 yo Pashmina had a good show with scores to 75.2 at TL in her warm up class with Ashley and a good showing in their championship classes. Can’t wait to start up with our winter homework with this super talented pair.

Stephanie Lawrence and Hugo had a super first championship experience together, it’s a big atmosphere to get used to! They ended up mid pack in a huge AA TL champ class and got a 5th place on Thursday in the warmup. He gets lots of carrots!

Zoe Purser and Manny came to show and had lovely warmups! Had a 2nd place on Fri in the 3-3 and we are getting closer to figuring out his showing routine.

Amy Wolfe and her 5 yo Leo also came to school and he didn’t put a foot out of place. I stole him for a training ride on sat and he was so perfect I would have sent him down centerline but luckily for him we ran out of time🤣.

Thank you to Zoe Flannery and Andi Lenzi Puls for keeping me laughing we can share accomodations any time! Huge congrats to Zoe on her show she is allergic to scoring below 70!!! Congrats to Anne Barbarick for her super rides too- so fun to watch and she kicked ass! Thanks Sarah Watson for making me quicker on my feet before I rode 🤣. Best thing about this show is getting to see and support each other as a dressage community.

Thank you Autumn St. Laurent for keeping the horses at home worked and happy no one tried shenanigans today!!

Thank EQ Saddle Science and The Simple Equine for keeping Phanci feeling her best and looking her best! And Atlantic Equine Services Seacoast Equine and Great Bay Equine for tending to her needs! Thanks wilson horr for the last minute lesson before we left for the show. Thank you Yankee Forge as well for keeping her feet happy!

Kudos to all the riders who participated at HITS-on-the-Hudson this weekend. We had a great time with decent weather, aside from the typical August Hits monsoon, which fortunately passed quickly. The footing has improved significantly and drains much better now. Highlights include:

🌟 Charlotte and Cola successfully attending their first dressage show, achieving two third-place finishes and impressive scores of up to 68% at T-1 and T-3.

🌟 Stephanie and Hugo competed at T-3 with 3rd and 4th place and scores to 70%.

🌟Carol Anne and Tiger competed at their second show together and are qualified for championships at 1-3.

🌟Amy and her 5 yo Leo schooled off property for the first time together and he was perfect.

Thank you to my staff for keeping the fort held down at home and EQ Saddle Science for looking at saddle fit for us there before we left! Thank you Karen Hudson and Jennifer Wilson-Horr for sharing your Airbnb and company this weekend. Thanks everyone for helping with Finn at his second dressage show too!
