🧡 Remember Miss Maui? Now she’s ready for her next chapter! 🧡

When Maui needed lifesaving treatment for FIP, our community showed up in an incredible way. Thanks to your generosity, the Nine Lives Rescue Fund met—and exceeded—its goal, helping give Maui and eight other kittens a chance at the lives ahead of them.

Now, this sweet 6-month-old orange tabby girl has another wish: a forever family of her very own! 🐾

Maui may be blind, but that doesn't slow her down one bit. She's affectionate, cuddly and playful, ready to explore her forever home with confidence, curiosity and plenty of love to share.

You helped us fight for Maui's future. Now, help us find the loving family who will be part of it. ❤️

Could you be the one to give Miss Maui her happily ever after?

🐾 RESCUE UPDATE: OUR COMMUNITY IS SHOWING UP! ❤️

On Friday, we shared the urgent rescue of 38 cats and kittens from DeSoto County who were out of time. Today, we have an incredible update to share — and it’s all thanks to YOU!

🎉 More than 30 new foster applications came in by Sunday morning!

And the lifesaving continues! Eleven cats and kittens headed to foster homes on Saturday, with another 13 going into foster care on Sunday. That’s 24 cats and kittens now receiving care, comfort, and love in temporary homes as they prepare for their next chapter. 🏡

To everyone who applied to foster, welcomed a cat into your home, shared our plea, or donated to help these cats: THANK YOU. You are showing us what’s possible when a community comes together for animals in need.

🐱 NOW, WE NEED YOUR HELP WITH KITTEN FOSTER SUPPLIES!

As more kittens head into foster care, we need to replenish the supplies that help our foster families care for them. These essentials make it possible for us to say yes when more cats and kittens need help.

You can help by shopping our Amazon Wish List! We’ve updated the priority levels to highlight our most urgent needs, so please look for the highest-priority items when choosing what to donate.

🛒 Shop our Amazon Wish List: https://a.co/07vn5ylT

Every foster home opens up space to help another animal. Every donated supply helps a foster family provide care. And every act of kindness moves this rescue forward.

Thank you for showing up for these 38 cats and kittens and helping us give them the second chances they deserve. We’re so grateful to be part of a community that cares. 🐾

🐾 VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT: SUSIE! 🐾

Since joining the Cat Depot family in 2011, Susie has fostered hundreds of kittens, helping them grow from tiny, vulnerable babies into healthy, playful kittens ready for their forever homes. What began as a way to fill the quiet of an empty nest has grown into more than a decade of making a difference! ❤️

More recently, Susie has expanded her involvement by supporting our Community Food Bank, helping with distribution days and behind-the-scenes administrative work. This important program provides pet food to families in need, helping them keep their beloved companions at home where they belong.

Susie is also currently fostering Tippi, a kitten who arrived at Cat Depot with an injured front leg. After undergoing an amputation, Tippi will continue recovering in Susie’s loving care. She’s Susie’s very first three-legged foster, and we’re so grateful to have her in such caring hands!

When asked what she finds most rewarding about volunteering, Susie shared, “I find everything I do at Cat Depot rewarding.” Her advice to anyone considering volunteering? “Just do it! You will find your niche.”

And a fun fact about Susie? In the 1980s, she once “ran away” with the Toby Tyler Circus for three weeks, making and selling popcorn and candy apples! 🎪

Thank you, Susie, for sharing your time, compassion, and talents with Cat Depot and the cats and families we serve. We’re so lucky to have you on our team!

💙 Want to make a difference, too? From fostering kittens to supporting community programs, there are so many ways to get involved at Cat Depot. Find your niche and join our volunteer family: catdepot.org/volunteer/

🚨 RESCUE UNDERWAY: 38 CATS AND KITTENS ARE SAFE! 🐾❤️

It’s a special Feel Good Friday at Cat Depot! Today didn’t go as planned, but that’s often how it goes in animal welfare.

Today, we saved 38 cats and kittens from DeSoto County who were out of time and at risk of losing their lives.

Late last night, the exhausted team at DeSoto County Animal Services began making calls for help. The cat rescue community answered their plea, and organizations began coordinating a lifesaving effort late into the night. While most people were pouring their first cup of coffee this morning, the wheels were already turning to get these cats and kittens to safety.

We’re proud to work alongside St. Francis Animal Rescue, Venice FL and Cattin’ Around Englewood to make this lifesaving rescue possible!

Together, we’ve helped 38 cats and kittens find safety, including 28 who are now settling in at Cat Depot.

It’s a powerful reminder of what can happen when a community comes together for cats in need.

That’s what Feel Good Friday is all about!

Building Community Through Connection 🐾

At Cat Depot, we believe there’s a special connection between cats and mental well-being. The comfort, companionship, and joy animals bring can create meaningful moments of connection — and we love finding ways to share that with our community.

Since September, we’ve been excited to welcome members from both the North and South Sarasota locations of YANA Sarasota, a program of NAMI Central Suncoast - Formerly Sarasota and Manatee Counties. YANA provides a welcoming, peer-led space where adults can connect, build community, and support their personal wellness journeys.

During their visits, members have enjoyed VIP tours, quality time with our cats, and a hands-on cat wand-making activity! They even got to see their creations put to the test as our kitties tried out their new enrichment toys. 🐱

We love bringing people and cats together in ways that encourage creativity, connection, and a little extra happiness for everyone involved.

With visits in both September and October, we’re so grateful for this growing partnership and are already looking forward to welcoming YANA members back in November for another opportunity to connect with our cats and community. 💙

Meet Jack 🐾❤️ A senior kitty with a heart full of love and a story of starting over.

At 10 years old, Jack knows what it means to lose someone. After his beloved owner passed away, Jack lost the person he knew as home. Through no fault of his own, he found himself without a place to belong before eventually making his way to Cat Depot.

Now, this sweet boy is learning to navigate a whole new world.

Jack may be a little shy at first, but he warms up quickly, and once he feels safe, his loving personality shines. He's a lap cat, a gentle companion, and one of our beloved office cats who reminds us just how special the bond between a cat and their person can be.

He's been through more change than any kitty should have to endure, but underneath that grief is a heart still ready to love. 🤍

Jack isn't looking for anything extravagant. Just a calm, quiet home, a little patience while he settles in, and someone who will let him be their person, too.

At 10 years old, Jack deserves to know that he's home for good. Could you be the one who gives this sweet senior his fresh start? 🏡🐱
