Cat Depot recently rescued 70 cats and kittens from DeSoto County Animal Services—and now we urgently need your help to make space for the next lifesaving rescue.

Join us June 4–7 and help us reach our goal of 25 adoptions in just 4 days! Come meet amazing, adoptable cats like Misty, Molly, Mrs. Baker, and Roxy—each one ready to leave the shelter behind and head home with you. 💕

Rescue Update: 70 Cats & Kittens Safe Thanks to You!

The past 48 hours have been nothing short of incredible.

Following our rescue of 70 cats and kittens from the DeSoto County Animal Shelter, our community has stepped up in a huge way:

❤️ 98 foster applications received
🏠 15 new foster homes activated just today
🐱 51 cats and kittens placed into foster homes between yesterday and today

Nearly all of the rescued kittens have already headed off to loving foster homes where they can grow, heal, and thrive. We still have a special litter of nine kittens receiving medical treatment, but four of them are expected to head to foster next week as they continue to improve.

Meanwhile, our veterinary team has been hard at work, with many of the adult cats receiving their spay/neuter surgeries today as they prepare for their next chapter.

Every foster application, donation, share, and word of encouragement has helped make this lifesaving effort possible. Seeing these cats leave for foster homes is exactly the outcome we hoped for when we answered the call to help.

If you submitted a Foster Application but have not been contacted yet, we will be taking tomorrow off for well-deserved rest and then will follow up next week. The next needy litter of kittens is already waiting for Cat Depot.

Thank you to our community of staff, volunteers, foster families, and supporters who have rallied around these cats. Together, we're giving them the second chance they deserve.

And already 26 of the 70 cats and kittens we rescued yesterday are in loving foster homes—and we’re just getting started. 🐾

🚨FOSTER HOMES URGENTLY NEEDED 🚨

Cat Depot has stepped up to help approximately 70 vulnerable kittens and adoptable cats from the overcrowded Desoto County Animal Shelter. We could not turn away animals with nowhere else to go.

But now, we urgently need your help to make this possible. Our foster homes are completely full, with 76 cats and kittens already in care. These little cuties need your help!

Among them are tiny kittens too young for shelter life and friendly, loving cats who simply need a safe place to land. The truth is, a spare bathroom, guest room, or quiet space can mean the difference between life and loss.

Even if you’ve never fostered before—we’ve got you covered.

We provide: Veterinary care | Food and litter | Beds, toys, and enrichment | Training and ongoing support | After-hours emergency care
