First priority was a wonderful first groom for this shelter pup.

Second priority was can we make him look like a stuffy?

Our adorable little poodle type guy found himself unwanted and super scared in a shelter kennel. Kind staff worked to win him over and he started to come around, but they knew he wasn’t going to thrive in a a shelter and reached out to Dogwood for help.

He arrived defensive and panicked but within minutes he was happy, playful and ready to party and he’s settling in beautifully. He loves attention, gets along well with other dogs, and is working on learning manners. He’s got lots of energy, and plenty of s***k and sass and will thrive in an active home that sets boundaries and provides the exercise and training he needs to succeed. Hes probably best suited to an adult home.

Oliver is probably around 8 months old and weighs 12 pounds. He will need routine clipping/grooming but appears to be no shed.

Happy 15th birthday Yoshi!! I just love how joyful you are to see me and I’m so glad we made friends when you were such a young guy and that I still get to see you every four weeks. 💖🐾🥳🎉

From wearing a muzzle to kisses as I removed painful mats and stickers from his neglected coat. Thankful today for clients who care about their pets well being and those that help save the discarded. 🙏❤️

Spa day for Casper ❤️

Casper was a filthy, flea infested, matted stray and scheduled for euthanasia in an overcrowded shelter because he was so scared, grumpy and trying to bite. Kind shelter staff knew he wouldn’t be adoptable without some pretty major intervention and reached out for help. He's coming around beautifully with patient gentle handling and today he had what was no doubt his first ever grooming. He did surprisingly well thanks to Carrie’s patience and experience.

Casper is a maltipoo or bichon type of about a year or two old and 11 pounds (he was 13 pounds before grooming). He still needs patience but he’s seeking attention and climbing in laps with a little time.
