Your mom wanted to give me a heads up that today might be our last grooming day together. How can it already be 14 years we have known each other? Every 6 weeks for 14 years I’ve had the honor of being your groomer. There were many times I almost fired you because you were being “cooper”. But together we learned, grew patient and found a way you enjoyed.
When I showed up today, I wasn’t sure if you’d be feeling up for a grooming based on what your mom said.. But I pulled up to you barking and rearing to get into my van! And you couldn’t get enough treats, even though I thought you stopped eating?
You enjoyed every second of me cleaning your eye boogers and the warm water washing over your skinny body. You slept for most of your fluff dry (first pic). And then when mom texted she was ready for you, I said you know he looks really happy and is about to fall asleep… but instead of sleep you sat there and stared at me so sweetly while I groomed your brother😭
Your sweet eyes (second pic) still shine so bright, and I wasn’t filled with sadness today. But instead hope and a feeling that today wasn’t goodbye. That you still have time to share your light with your family, and even me 🫶🏻🙏🏻❤️
