Felines & Friends New Mexico FELINES & FRIENDS is dedicated to rescuing and placing homeless cats in need of a second chance. To date, we have placed over 5,500 animals into loving homes.

FELINES & FRIENDS is dedicated to rescuing and placing cats in need of a second chance; working towards zero pet overpopulation by facilitating low-cost spay/neuter; and improving the lives of both companion animals and their owners through on-going education. In recent years, significant strides have been made in reducing the euthanasia rate of dogs and cats all across the nation. FELINES & FRIEN

DS plays an important role in this effort, interfacing with local shelters to rescue “special needs” and hard to place cats. Since its formation in 2002, FELINES & FRIENDS has gained a reputation in Northern New Mexico for its proactive work in the pairing of cats and their humans. FELINES & FRIENDS utilizes a comprehensive adoption screening process to enhance the fit between pet and their adoptive family. The organization also maintains a strict return policy if ownership commitment cannot be met. All FELINES & FRIENDS cats are FEL/FIV tested, current on FVRCP vaccinations, micro chipped, and spayed or neutered. If old enough, they are vaccinated against rabies as well.

Lolly and Sherb are an adorable bonded pair looking for their forever home together. These almost 5-month-old siblings came to F&F as strays from Artesia, NM, along with their brother and mom.

Lolly is a sweet, quiet girl who looks to her brother for safety and comfort. Sherb is her brave protector, a curious little guy who is always ready for his next adventure. Together, they’re the perfect pair of sweet + spunky!

Meet Grim 💙🐾

Grim came to Felines & Friends as a stray and is now looking for a special home of his own. This sweet 4-month-old kitten came to us with Cerebellar Hypoplasia-like neurological challenges that affect his coordination, but he doesn’t let that stop him.

Grim is curious, brave, playful, and determined to do things on his own. He grooms himself, plays with other kittens, loves to snuggle, and is otherwise a happy, healthy kitten.

Mickey is learning that people can be pretty great 💙🐾

When 7-year-old Mickey first came to Felines & Friends as a stray, she was extremely shy and spent about five weeks hiding under the bed while she adjusted to her new surroundings. Since then, she has slowly but surely come out of her shell.

These days, Mickey comes out for meals, announces when it’s time to eat with little meows, rubs against her people, and loves full-body pets and chin scratches. She’s even rolled over for a belly rub!

Mickey still knows her boundaries and needs a patient adopter who will give her space, move at her pace, and let her build trust on her own terms. With patience and gentle care, we think this affectionate girl will continue to blossom in a home of her own.

Thank you to everyone who attended the military ceremony for David Schultz at the National Cemetery yesterday.

It was quite moving and included a three-gun volley followed by the playing of Taps.

Thank you to those who donated to F&F in David’s honor to offset the cost of the Celebration of Life that followed.
