🚨 RULE BREAKERS AHEAD 🚨

Okay, okay… we know we always say "indoor only" for our cats. It’s the safest, healthiest choice. BUT… sometimes, life throws you a furball that doesn’t play by the rules. 😼

Meet our Three Outdoor Dreamers:
🌿 Casey – Part panther, part gardener. Loves to sunbathe on the deck like it’s his job.
🌾 Willoughby – A philosopher in a fur coat. Needs space to roam while contemplating life (and squirrels).
🌼 Pocket – The tiniest explorer with the biggest sense of adventure. Think “backyard gnome,” but fluffier.

These three would thrive with safe, supervised outdoor access—like a catio, leash walks, or a secure yard. Indoor-only life just isn’t cutting it for them, and we want them to be happy and home.

💜 Happy Tails: Elbow (now Iris!) 💜

Our sweet girl Elbow has traded in her quirky name for something a little more graceful - Iris! And honestly, it suits her perfectly. 🌸

Her new family says: "Thanks for checking in! “Elbow” is now named Iris and she’s the perfect addition to our family. We love her so much! She’s a sweet, smart, brave little girl who snuggles under blankets and on laps once she’s worn herself out playing with everyone and everything in the house. She’s just the buddy our other cat Aster needed and as a bonus she’s also her mini me. 😆 Thank you so much for the work you do!" 🐾

We’re so happy Iris found a loving home where her personality can shine. 💫

🐾 Foster Friday Feature: Westley! 🐾

Westley is one of our longer stay residents here at the shelter and he has been looking for his forever home since October 2024. That’s nearly 10 months of watching other dogs come and go while he patiently waits for his turn. 💔 But recently, he's been living it up in a loving foster home and with their amazing help, he is continuing to blossom into the wonderful dog we knew he was all along. 💙

His foster mom has been cheering him on as he hits new milestones each week and this week, she shared some major wins:

✨ Voluntarily hanging out inside the house
✨ Braving hardwood floors AND stairs (twice!)
✨ Following his foster into the garage like a total champ
✨ Politely checking out the front door scene and even charming the neighbors through the glass
✨ Playing respectfully with other dogs (and taking corrections like a gentleman)
✨ Staying right by his foster's side on walks and responding beautifully to his name

Westley is just over 2 years old, and while he’s still a young husky, he’s surprisingly calm, sweet, attentive, and gentle. He’s housebroken, sleeps quietly through the night (unless there’s wildlife drama outside 😄), and is learning how good it feels to be part of a family.

His foster dog sister Xolani has been a great role model and playmate—and Westley is showing every day that he’s ready for a loving home of his own.

Introducing Tiddlywink, Pinky Pie, and Apple Jack — 2.5-month-old large(ish) breed mystery mixes with names that sound like they were generated by a toddler and personalities to match.

They’re happy, active, and very into whatever it is you’re doing. Gardening? They’ll help dig. Cleaning? They’ll supervise. Sitting down for one second? They’ll be in your lap immediately, no questions asked.

We don’t know their breed. We don’t know how big they’ll get. We do know they’re extremely enthusiastic about life, food, and each other’s ears. They’re blank slates, ready to become your hiking buddy, couch potato, or enthusiastic sidekick with the right guidance (and a steady supply of treats).

They were likely an unplanned litter, but now they’re very much planning to take over your heart and possibly your living room. Adopt now, or risk being haunted forever by the one that got away (probably Apple Jack).

We are open for browsing hours through the weekend (Tues-Sun from 11am-5pm)!

This handsome gentleman came to us from a rescue partner and is now on the lookout for a forever home to call his own. 💙 Casey is as sweet as they come — his previous foster families have nothing but lovely things to say about him! He's affectionate, polite, and absolutely adores being brushed and petted. 🐾

Casey hasn’t lived with dogs before, but he might enjoy the company of a gentle, respectful feline friend. Mostly, he’s just hoping for a calm, loving home where he can soak up attention and return the favor with cuddles. 💕

🌟 Happy Tails Update: Elsie (fka Porky)! 🐾

Sweet little Porky from Juliet’s litter has found her forever family, and she’s now living her best life as Elsie! 💖

Her new family shares:
"Elsie (Porky) is doing great! She has settled into our family so perfectly. She is just the sweetest and we all love her so much! Since coming home she has slept through the night (every night), learned potty training quickly, and has had her last round of vaccines (walks and dogs park soon!). Elsie has made a lot of new friends including a 150lb Shepard named Destroyer (bosses dog). Elsie gets to go to the office with daddy and work from home with mommy. Her big brother Gordon has grown to love her so much! We are so happy our stars aligned to adopt her. Our home feels complete ❤️"
