Not redirecting.
Not counter conditioning.

Champ & I thoroughly enjoyed the TWC Trainer’s Summit this weekend!

He made some girlfriends.
Played ball of course.
Begged for food from probably every single person.
Met some puppies.
Won the hearts of so many great people.
Even got voted MVP.

We’re pooped.

Day 2 of Chip's go home weekend.

Taking him home & spending time with his family was such a cool experience for me, and definitely something I would love to do with future out of state clients if I can.

I used to laugh at sq**rt bottles, but they have come in very handy for a lot of client dogs lately.

Especially the ones who are used to getting nailed on a prong collar or crucified with an ecollar on high levels.

Reminder: PUNISHMENT IS NOT ABOUT BEING PHYSICALLY HARD ON THE DOG

This is precisely why “just avoid dogs for the rest of your life” or “only practice with dogs at a distance” are not real training plans.

Kim & Rowdy arent even home yet & they’re already having to deal with real life experiences.

Rowdy has been through the ringer for the last few years.

Getting attacked multiple times at a young age, then unfortunately getting the “help” from Sit Means Sit, which made things 100 times worse - I’m calling them out from now on because I’ve heard dozens of clients have the same experience with them. (There’s also an entire Reddit thread)

If I can prevent 1 person from hiring this company it’s worth it.

The dog reactivity probably would have been very easy to fix years ago, but their approach was to nail him with the ecollar any time he LOOKED at a dog…and this is where we are because of it.

These are the trainers that give the remote collar such a bad reputation.

He’s been one of the more challenging cases I’ve had because his past training definitely comes with some emotional damage, and a hell of a lot of confusion.

But after some substantial time being here we’re pulling him out of the depths & helping him feel normal again.
