Jelly's Place was founded in 2017 to be an advocate for the lives and dignity of urban animals who are homeless, abandoned, impounded, sick, or injured, by providing responsible care, placement, and community education with the commitment to the No-Kill philosophy. Jelly's Place serves West Contra Costa County and especially the cities of Richmond and San Pablo. Jelly's Place is a 501c(3) communit

y nonprofit organization and donations are tax deductible. Jelly's Place depends on donations and grants, and volunteers to foster and care for animals. Animals are cared for by volunteers in their homes. Its founder, Julie Bainbridge, has been rescuing and fostering animals since childhood. She has rescued, fostered, and /or raised all kinds of animals, including baby squirrels, raccoons, pigeons, chickens, geese, ducks, skunks (yes- skunks), wild and tropical birds, pigmy goats, mice, snakes, rabbits, dogs, and cats. Jelly's Place is named in memory of her beloved English Bulldog who crossed over the Rainbow bridge in 2016.

💕 Meet Birdie 💕

Birdie is an 8-year-old English Bulldog looking for a calm, loving home to call her own. This 55-pound sweetheart is a professional cuddler who loves people and never turns down pets, attention, or a cozy spot on the couch.

She is crate trained, house trained, spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and takes a daily medication for common Bulldog skin allergies.

Birdie would do best as the only pet in a home without babies or toddlers, where she can relax and be the center of attention. She’s a loving, loyal companion who has so much affection to give.

Her family loves her very much and is making the difficult decision to find the home that will help her thrive.

Meet Andre ❤️
Andre is a gorgeous red nose bully boy. He was found abandoned in a dog park in Solano County, served his stray hold and then was transferred to Jelly's Place, because who can resist his adorable face.

Andre is a sweet tempered, happy, active boy who loves toys and chasing balls. He likes other dogs and would do well with older kids, due to his size and energy level.

The ideal home for Andre would be with an active, athletic family with a large backyard.

Andre is neutered, chipped and UTD on his vaccines.

Meet Charms. Charms is a stunningly beautiful girl, just shy of two years old. She has medium length, shiny, soft, silver fur, and glowing amber eyes.
Charms is a quiet, calm, low maintenance cat who would love a quiet home. She has been at the shelter for many months but gets overlooked because she is not outgoing. We believe that with a trusted human, she would bond and become more affectionate. She does enjoy petting, but she does not seek it out.
All she really needs is a sunny spot to sleep in and a home to to feel safe in, and we know that she will blossom and show how sweet she is. With proper introduction, she gets along very well with other cats. Dogs and young children might be too much for her.

She is spayed and vaccinated.

Bring your pet to get vaccinated against preventable diseases. Protect your pup from canine parvovirus and distemper, and your kitty from feline panleukopenia.

On Thursdays 1-4pm, thanks to PetcoLove we are giving vaccines to our community pets for free.
Dogs on leash or crates. Cats in crates please.
Note: rabies vaccine is not available at Jelly's Place.

Summer Series schedule: (Friday and Sunday times were switched in the message that went out to the team). Sundays are 4-5, Fridays are 6:30-7:30.

Beginner-friendly. Gentle. Low pressure.
