Maddie's Day 2012, after 2 years with Good NewZ!, in our home, Tommy was adopted by a young couple who ended up giving him to their friends. I was so worried ... and now 7 and a half years later, I finally know he was loved by others as much as I loved him ...
From 2012:
Tommy is a big, friendly, happy Bulldog/AmStaff mix. Tommy likes everybody, and he’s sure that everybody – dogs and people – will like him.
Tommy is about one-and-a-half years old and weighs about 55 pounds. He’s jet black with bright white markings on his chest and feet and neck. He has soulful, humorous brown eyes.
Tommy is a very muscular fellow, with a deep chest and thick legs and a neck like a bull. One look at his happy smile and his kind eyes, though, and you know that he’s just a very strong teddy bear. He looks like a choo-choo train, but he is an old soul and takes pains to keep harmony in the house. Tommy wants to be part of the party and he takes pains to insure that everyone else is having a good time too.
Tommy gets along beautifully with all dogs: young and old, large and small, male and female. He’s playful, but not too playful. He’s friendly and gentle, and he assumes that other dogs will be, too.
Tommy has had a hard young life. We found him on the street, abandoned. His left hind leg had been dislocated from the hip. He had probably been hit by a car.
We took him to San Francisco Veterinary Specialists, where they performed a Femoral Head Ostectomy. He has recovered VERY well. He won’t win races, but he walks and trots perfectly on all four feet. He even runs a little on all four feet – sometimes up and down stairs! His doctor said that he needs to stay slim and that he needs gentle exercise (which doesn’t seem to be any problem for Tommy Choo Choo).
