With the temperatures of summer rising, remember to leave your pets at home while you are out and about running errands. Even if you leave them in the car for a few minutes, your car quickly becomes an oven and can kill your furry loved one. Studies have shown that rolling a window down has been shown to have little effect on temperature inside a vehicle. Please share this post so that your Facebook friends, family members, and coworkers can see this reminder and be mindful of their fuzzy, four legged friend's health and wellness.

See a pet inside a vehicle on a warm day? Call your local Police Department's non-emergency number (ours is 925-935-6400, this is also a great time to save your local PD's number in your phone's list of contacts). You can also be on the look out for the owner, and if there are businesses nearby, notify their managers or security guards and ask them to make an announcement to find the car's owner.
