🐾💗🐾 HAPPY TAILS - SHILOH 🐾💗🐾

Sometimes, the right dog comes along at just the right time. And sometimes, a rescue story brings a little healing to hearts that need it, too.

We couldn't be happier to share that Shiloh has found her forever home with Denise and Ken.

After recently saying goodbye to their beloved Sasha, Denise and Ken were ready to open their hearts and home again. And Shiloh is one lucky girl because these two are ready to make her a big part of their lives.

Retired and ready for adventure, Denise and Ken have so much to look forward to with Shiloh. There will be walks, hikes, outings, new places to explore, and plenty of opportunities to meet new friends and continue building her confidence and social skills.

And the fun doesn't stop there. Through our partnership with Primal Canine, Shiloh will be able to continue her training. Denise and Ken already know and love the Primal team, having worked with them with Sasha, so Shiloh's education and continued progress are in wonderful hands.

There's also a new furry family member to get acquainted with. Their kitty, Willow, is being introduced to Shiloh slowly and thoughtfully, giving these two time to get comfortable with one another.

From a dog whose life was once hanging in the balance on the euthanasia list to a life with a family, adventures ahead, and a lifetime of love waiting for her. What a difference a second chance makes.

Denise and Ken, thank you for choosing rescue and giving Shiloh the wonderful life she deserves.

Clara definitely gets our vote for Most Adorable Kitten, and she’s already got our vote!

Her campaign promise is simple: a family to call her own. The AARF Kitty Playroom is open most Saturdays from 12 to 3pm and is a great way to meet and interact with some of our available cats and kittens like Clara and her brother Levi. Our kitty roster changes weekly, so if you’d like to meet them, apply at www.aarflove.org first and we are happy to arrange a meet and greet.

🐾🛟 SURVIVAL STORIES - CLEO & LEO 🛟🐾

Say hello to brother and sister duo Leo and Cleo! These two started out as babies at a TNR project site in San Jose, and they were taken in as pets. Unfortunately, the humans that committed to them changed their minds and these two needed a safe place to go, so now they’re AARF kitties.

The good news is that they have each other. Having a sibling by your side makes any big change a little easier, and these two are a package deal.

Cleo and Leo are new to us so we’re still getting to know them, but so far they are showing us what sweet kittens they are. They are already working on completing their medical protocols so in a short time, they will be ready to start looking for a true forever family. We are accepting applications for them now though so please apply if you are interested in this lovely pair (please note, they will only be available to adopt as a duo).

🐾🛟 SURVIVAL STORIES - RICKY 🛟🐾

A few weeks ago, Ricky was found in a very remote neighborhood in the country, a place where predators are everywhere. We don’t know if he was dumped there, but he is so lucky to have been found by kind humans instead.

Ricky is only about 4 months old and is the sweetest boy. He wasn’t microchipped or neutered and he’s clearly not a feral kitten, so we’re not sure how he ended up out there. His finder did everything right. They went door to door to the very few houses nearby, put up posters, notified the shelter, and even posted on Nextdoor, but no one came forward.

A neighbor of the finder knew someone at AARF and reached out to see if we could squeeze him in. We’re all full up, but one of our fosters was willing to take him in, so we were able to say yes.

Ricky is safe, warm, and loved now, and we can’t wait to share more about this sweet boy as he settles in. He has completed his medical and is ready to find his forever family! To apply for Ricky, please see our website for our process and applications - www.aarflove.org

Levi is getting a head start on his travel plans. This 5 month old kitten was caught up close with the TV, taking in the sights of San Francisco, but the view he’s really hoping for is the one from his forever home!

Levi was found as a stray along with his sister, Clara. He is adorable, curious, cuddly, and sweet, and you should see him light up when he’s playing with Clara and his kitten friend Pete.

He’s a little shy and still warming up to his people, napping close by or coming up for brief pets. He tends to stick close to Clara or Pete, and one of his favorite things in the world is running down the hall with his kitty friends. Lately he has started climbing onto chests to stare right into your eyes, the sweetest little gesture from a total heartbreaker in the making.

Levi would be a perfect pair with either Clara or Pete, and in a perfect world, he’d go home with a family who wants all three together.
