🐾💗🐾 RESCUED & HAPPY TAILS – HONEY 🐾💗🐾

This tiny 8 week old pup was being given away outside a local Walmart when one of our amazing volunteers stepped in to keep her safe. At such a young age, she shouldn’t have been separated from her mom, and she still needed important vaccines and medical care. We couldn’t risk her being handed off to just anyone. We held Honey through her stray hold, and when no one came forward, she officially became an AARF puppy. 💕

Honey has now been in her forever home for quite some time, and her new mom Victoria is absolutely spoiling this precious girl. Honey has two kitty siblings she adores, plus Victoria’s daughter has a sweet pittie pup, so playdates are always on the calendar. Honey is already enjoying hikes, camping trips, and plenty of adventures.

Happy life, Honey! You are one lucky puppy. 💗

Today we celebrate National Dog Day 🎉 It’s a special day to honor dogs of every shape, size, and story, while reminding us of the many still waiting for their forever families. 🐾

🐾🩵🐾 HAPPY TAILS - LARRY 🐾🩵🐾

Larry seemed to appear out of nowhere, showing up one day at a foster’s home like he knew he belonged somewhere special. This sweet, gentle soul captured hearts instantly with his calm, old-soul energy wrapped in a young kitty body. Larry is the definition of easygoing. On adoption day, he let his new family's young kiddo pick him up and even rest her head on him. Pure trust and love from the start. 💕

As a proud single pringle (our name for kitties who prefer to be the only cat), Larry was looking for a home where he could soak up all the attention. And that’s exactly what he found! His new family was looking for a one-and-only, and Larry fit the bill perfectly. Here’s to a lifetime of love for this special boy.

Most of our kitties we save are from euthanasia at shelters both locally and surrounding areas, as well as found orphaned, sick or abandoned right here in our own community. 🐾🩵🐾 HAPPY TAILS - GEORGE & BLANCHE 🐾🩷🐾

George, a brave little singleton, and Blanche, one of our fabulous Golden Girls kittens, have found their forever home – together! These two love bugs instantly bonded over their matching personalities and love of exploration. When they arrived at their new home, they stepped right out of their carriers and into adventure.

Now they’re part of a loving family with two resident kitties and a brand-new custom catio – built just for them! With their affectionate, lap-loving ways, George and Blanche are sure to fill their new home with endless love and snuggles.

🐾💙🐾 HAPPY TAILS – TINY TIM & BEAR 🐾💙🐾

Some of you may remember their rescue story — two sweet brothers who came into AARF together, a little unsure of the world but full of love to give. Today, we’re thrilled to share their happily-ever-afters!

Tiny Tim (now COCO) was adopted by the Andrade family, where he’s being absolutely adored. This little guy is soaking up all the love, attention, and pampering his new family showers on him, and he’s lapping it up like a true prince.

Bear found the perfect match with Philip and Brooke. This active family loves long walks and hikes, and Bear is always ready for adventure right alongside them. He even gets to tag along to Philip’s office a couple days a week, where he’s spoiled with attention and has quickly become the star of the workplace.

The best part, since Coco’s mom and Bear’s dad work together, these brothers still get to see each other. AARF couldn’t ask for a sweeter ending for two pups who are just the sweetest.

🐾🛟 SURVIVAL STORIES - THELMA, LOUISE, & LITTLES 🛟🐾

Recently we were alerted to a situation of kittens being given away at a local gas station. An AARF volunteer went and discovered that there were 7 underaged kittens. There had been 12 but reportedly, 1 had passed away and 4 had already been handed out. Our volunteer was not only able to save the remaining 7 kittens but their 2 momcats, as these babies were not yet weaned.

THELMA, LOUISE, and their kittens were an unexpected rescue (aren’t they all!) but thankfully another AARF volunteer was available to help set up a temporary holding pen while we figured out next steps for these sweet families during the busy 4th of July weekend. Thelma and Louise are very young and small, probably only about 7-8 months themselves - just teens! They are friendly and shared nursing duties like sisters. Sweet, adoptable teenage cats that deserve a chance to be happy housecats, too.

Fun fact: of the 9 kitties, only 1 is a male. That means 8 female kitties will now not ever be able to make more kittens so this rescue of 9 is actually more like a rescue of 100s - and that is huge! 🩷🩵

🐾🩷🐾 HAPPY TAILS - TURTLE 🐾🩷🐾

Our gorgeous girl Turtle has officially been adopted - and it was just in time for her 1st birthday! Turtle came to us last year from a local shelter, bravely battling both FIP and ringworm early on. Through it all, she remained incredibly sweet, resilient, and full of affection. She became such a precious part of her foster family’s life and they truly miss her snuggles.

But now, Turtle is starting her next chapter in the most amazing way. She was adopted by a wonderful family and she joined another young torti sister named Jillian.The girls quickly became best friends. And as if that wasn’t dreamy enough… her new parents built them their very own catios! These two lucky girls are living the good life!

We couldn’t be happier for Turtle and her new family - happy birthday and happy forever, sweet girl. 🖤🧡
