This one is for Mila. My sweet 15-year-old Shih Tzu mix, my very first dog, passed away on March 9 this year. Every one of these adventures happened with her by my side, alongside her daughter Mandy (14) and Max (10).
The three of them saw it all together.
From canyon rims to lake shores to home-plate cheers, these three racked up some serious mileage and some serious stories.
The Places
The Grand Canyon — standing at the edge of one of the world’s great wonders, taking it all in.
The Vermilion Cliffs — wandering among the towering red rock, dwarfed by all that color and stone.
Lake Huron & Lake Michigan — wading right where the two Great Lakes meet, paws in two lakes at once.
Nashville — soaking up the music city energy.
Sedona — red rocks and desert views.
Zion National Park — exploring towering canyon walls.
New Orleans — taking in the French Quarter charm.
Downtown Chicago — city sidewalks and skyline views.
Houston — checking out another big Texas city.
Baseball games, birthday parties, and restaurants — because not every adventure needs a mountain backdrop. Sometimes it’s just good company and a good time.
The States (14 and counting!)

The Recap
Fourteen states, two Great Lakes, one Grand Canyon, a handful of great cities, and more birthday cake crumbs than we can count. Thank you, Mila, for every single mile. We love and miss you. 🐾💛
