ATTN Boerboel Breeders - Learning Tidbit: turn on the sound for this video! On a side note, if you separate the mother from the pups for too long, it can cause the puppies to aspirate and develop pneumonia because the milk is flowing too fast and they are sucking harder than normal because they are hungry. If you see milk coming out of their noses, it’s flowing too fast!

ATTN NEW BREEDERS: watch the pup beside her front left leg closely in the video. This is how mama’s accidentally lay on their pups. Boerboel moms are not always self aware, and pups can easily be lost by sliding through an armpit and the mom lays back down. Pig rails on whelping boxes don’t help in these situations. This little girl found her way back around on her own as I watched, but this is a good example of why our mama’s are never alone at all with their pups for the first few weeks.

This is a video of the Black Iron Keeper and Black Iron Luna puppies which are now 48 hours olds. Each time she wakes up from a nap, she quickly starts cleaning pups as if she is afraid that she missed something in her sleep😂. Once the anesthesia wore off completely, it was game on. She is doing a great job with the pups, and all 11 are doing well!

WEBSITE REBUILD IS in the works! Our Black Iron Boerboels website which was built about a decade ago, has been living on outdated technology for a VERY long time. Fortunately, our original developer Ashley said that she could bring it back to life with a whole lot of changes and she has been plugging away! To say that I am excited is an understatement😂. It is being rebuilt in a 5 phased approach with lots of new goodies, and the plan is for Phase 1 to be LIVE in the near future. For those who have recently struggled to navigate our page and find our litters, a fix is near. Thanks for the patience!! Now if we can just get the Verizon cell service fixed in our area as well, we will be in good shape!😂

We are back to baking some new Boerboel babies over here! After having a 6 month break from having any new pups born, they are now rolling in hot for July and August 💪. This pairing puts a Middelpos One(aka Java) son with a ridiculously athletic and functional Black Iron Keeper daughter named Macy(aka Medusa). While this pic doesn’t show size, “Stax” is a big substantial male with height and a personality to die for. He is AWFUL when it comes to cooperating for pics. We imported this guy a few years back and then placed him with some friends of ours in AL. He came back here for 3 wks prior to the Expo, and happily donated to our gene pool at that time😂.

Medusa(aka Macy) is crazy athletic female with beautiful movement with a nice solid rear end. She carries a strong pedigree of beautiful and athletic dogs that can move, work, hang out or do whatever your heart desires. This combo brings in some new but not unfamiliar blood, which we expect to be just awesome when combined.

We had placed Macy as a co-own with my good friend Christina @ Desert Stronghold Boerboels in Arizona. She has done such a great job as a dog mom and raising her own pups from her first Black Iron girl, that we figured she was the perfect fit for Macy, and boy were we right👏☺️. She has done a fabulous job with her!! Pups will be here the 2nd week of July, and will be dual registered as SABBS and AKC.

“Black Iron Stryker” (owned by Freedom BB) is from our litter between Black Iron Keeper and Black Iron Maggie. Stryker’s litter sister is Black Iron Medusa (aka Macy), who was recently bred to the big b***d “Veiligplek Quort” (aka Stax) male that we imported from Portugal a few years back out of Middlepos One(Java). Stax's sister, Veiligplek Quinoa, was the Highest Appraised Dog in Portugal this year. Macy is due to have pups by 7/7 and we are expecting some really nice head and bone to come from that pairing with the Middelpos influence coming from both sides. Also expecting great temperaments as well:) Macy is co-owned with Desert Stronghold.

Where there is mud....we will find it !
