SPAY NEUTER UPDATE: Texas nonprofits, animal shelters, and local governments can now apply for funding through the state’s newly launched $13 million Texas Spay and Neuter Pilot Program (TXSNP)!

ALL Texas counties are eligible, and funding will be awarded through an open enrollment process using a tiered approach to ensure resources reach both urban and rural underserved communities.

TXSNP will provide direct financial support to organizations that deliver spay and neuter services for dogs and cats owned by, or in the custody of, Texas residents, rescue organizations, animal shelters, and government entities.

👉Visit the Open Enrollment Opportunities webpage and filter by DSHS
👉 Select HHS0016872 to download and complete the required documents
👉 Completed applications and questions should be submitted via email to [email protected]

Thanks to our supporters, AAPAW helped provide lifesaving care to animals across the San Antonio area in 2025 — from spay/neuter services and heartworm treatment to stepping in when animals needed immediate help.

Our annual Trails Fur Tails 5K also brought our community together to raise critical funds and celebrate our shared love of animals.
